On our last adventure in Spain one of our Spanish gas bottle adaptors, which was many years old, failed, so I bought a new one from a filling station in Spain. Upon trying to use the new adaptor I could not get any gas pressure. It took me a while to realise that what I'd bought was not a bottle adaptor but a regulator, which was not providing the required pressure into our safety valve/regulator. Can any of our Spanish friends tell me if Spanish motorhomes are fitted with a similar safety valve/regulator as UK vans, or do Spanish vans use a regulator directly mounted on the gas bottle, as I'm now sharing one adaptor between 2 bottles and I need to buy a second connector during our present adventure in Spain.

Ours has a bulkhead pressure reducer, not a clip on bottle top one.
This is fed from one of two bottles via a clip on "jumbo"* bottle top attachment. The pigtails between this and the bulkhead is high pressure hose with swaged connections (unlike the low pressure pigtails from a bottle top pressure, reducer to, say, a BBQ or gas fire which has low pressure hose secured with small "car radiator hose" type screw thread clips.

* "Jumbo" bottle top adaptors tend to have a knob on the top to turn on and off. The reducer types tend to have a swing lever. Both types secure the same way by lifting an annular collar, lowering onto the bottle neck, then pushing the collar down to lock.

Thank you Burgo, so much. Now I know I can call into a motorhome dealer in Spain and hopefully buy a new adaptor and swaged hose assembly. We are spending a few days fishing on the Ebro river at Caspe, after which we shall probably go to Benicarlo and Peniscola, which are our favourite locations.
