Since Nov 2010 after 25 yrs under canvas.
I have a Friend in France who has elderly neighbours who are motorhomers. Their van is 20 years old and funds are limited. I know no more detail.

They have been quoted €3,000 to replace the fridge. Is this reasonable? It seems excessive to me. Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Depends on the fridge. Ours cost just over £1000 a few months ago and that is just an under counter one not one of the tall fridge/freezers.

We paid £2500 for our new compressor Dometic….that was fitted

£2700 for a new replacement Dometic absorbsion Fridge Freezer including fitting.

I payed £2500 6 years ago fitted .but they could have a thetford for £1400 much better our friend has one even at 30degrees it was still keeping cool.zthe Thetford is a compressor so only runs on battery👍

What’s wrong with the fridge/freezer? If it’s 20+ years old it’s pretty simple and most likely can be repaired. Our van is 21years old and we have repeatedly been told not to worry it can be fixed. That’s in Lancashire, Kent and Morocco. I’ve also fixed things myself. Just a thought.

Tell your mate to look on Magnums of Grimsby website for different fridges/sizes —— rough prices are under counter fridge £600 ish Fridge/freezers £1400 ish 😉 3way
