Renting Motorhomes

I have taken our motorhome to a site to allow my son and family stay in it, we have returned home, and then collected the motorhome after their stay. Son does not have the necessary licence to drive it.
always kept immaculate.

It's quite common here as many people have a camping car with low usage ie they use it once or twice a year, also the renters here are typically trustworthy and reliable. If i look on the local small add in our region there's typically 3-5 always being advertised. The rate is typically £1,000 p/wk depending the van type, size and spec which is about 30% less than the hire companies of which there are many here. We've thought about it but never got past that although we did lend it to a friend in exchange for some favours, he did a war tour in the North of France, when we brought it back it was cleaner than we gave it to him and it had some wine in the garage.

We made it plain that we are happy to go away with family, with them in a tent, able to use our oven and loo, BUT they won't ever take it for a holiday.Too precious to us

most rental firms wont allow use at music festivals like glasonbury as the vans get filthy with mud
Not entirely true, our rental motorhome Max went to Glastonbury and was well cared for and came back clean.

We lent ours to my brother-in-law and his girlfriend for a 'vintage' music festival. He sorted out the insurance. I don't think they spent any time in the van except to sleep. Came back immaculate.

Would I rent it out? No way.
