Remoska

Some good tips and recipes on this old thread.....

I've not paid attention to it yet, it'd be interesting to see what the actual power usage is. It's rated at 400W if I remember correctly, but what's the duty cycle? 400W is an easy load on a reasonable inverter, and if it's only (say) 25% duty cycle on average once warmed up then you'd be on 100W (say 9-10A out of your battery with inefficiencies) consumption, which is a lot easier on the battery usage than 400W if it's 100% duty cycle. When we got ours the intention was to be able to run it off the inverter, but as the inverter is still in its box not wired in that's a bit tricky.
It's on all the time, no thermostat.

Another Lakeland gadget worth it’s weight in gold is the mini pancake maker , never used it for pancakes but it’s brilliant at fryed eggs , burger’s, sausage. Very small and only 350 watts , I think we paid about £18

Our Remoska works out at about 480W according to our smart meter display. Also when on an inverter it takes 40amps.

Wondering what era your Remoska is?

I have a vague recollection the early models were rated slightly more than 400 watts (not certain)? We had one of the original style, but when it eventually gave up the ghost, we replaced it with the current design.

There should be a ticket / label on it that indicates the maximum power rating.

But, you might have the current model, and it is operating at 480 watts? I'll try to check the actual consumption on hours.

Bought a Remoska , sold it on E Bay 3 months later , not for real cooks in my opinion , however ……… my sister literally cooks all her meals at home in hers and loves it . She is however NOT a cook , she could burn water .

We also bought a Vango camping induction hob (2x 400w plates or 1x 400w)
The one you linked to is 2 x 800W. Do you genuinely have a 2 x 400W model?

There are some low wattage ones about though. Broken Link Removedgoes down as low as 300W (although it doesn't say so in the description, but the manufacturer's info confirms it).

Called in at a local branch of Lakeland this morning, and saw this Remoska on display.

Just made me and Mrs mikebeaches chuckle - we use ours at home all the time. Convenient and running at just 400 watts, why wouldn't we... :giggle:

I use mine now in the house for the same reason. I think my oven is 1800 watts maybe even more. Electricity monthly direct debit is now double to what it was.

I’m thinking of buying one or tother for home. We have a Remoska in the Motorhome and use it all the time when on EHU. What do you all use when no hook up. ( except the oven which is for absolute emergency use)
I cooked a large chicken last week in mine, took 45 minutes (y)
