Going to get this done. I have read many views on pros and cons so that's not for this thread.

Are there good and bad companies?
Who did you use?
What was your experience with yours?
Have you used any around Tyne & Wear?
What did you pay?
Any other advice about choosing a supplier?

Who would you rather believe, unknown people with their own agenda, or genuine people on this forum without an axe to grind

I wouldn't recommend anyone remapping their vehicle without it going on the rolling road. The tests run on the RR before the remap is done show up any potential problems beforehand. There are loads of documented stories of people with poor maps which have caused all kinds of problems. The run after the remap should show the change in power output, and the power lines on the graph should be smooth and progressive. I'd take my van to PP Tuning in Louth or TH Performance Ltd on the south coast, both of whom have a massive number of positive comments on a number of forums (and I can personally vouch for excellent service at PP Tuning), who both offer Pendle tuning.
So far been unable to find a localish dealer who has a rolling road that can take my motorhome. Plenty do car sizes.

I can only speak as I’ve found, I’ve had 3/4 remaps over the past few years on cars/MH’s and chipped boxes prior to that, never had an issue and always been happy with the benefits.

You know, it's difficult to get a real feel for this as the proof is what happens when things go wrong and bear in mind that the number of problems is quite small. Many people can tell you how satisfied they were so you really need a good quantity of reviews. It's a pity that the review scenario is ruined by people with fake reviews.
I do value the advice on here but, even here, there are conflicting reviews. I suppose I'm looking for a company that guarantees to fix things if they go wrong, at no extra cost.

I think that’ll be a tough ask, they are remapping used vehicles, sometimes with many miles on the clock, wear and tear etc. Even if somebody provides some sort of assurances, proving any damage was caused due to the remap would probably be quite challenging.

If I knew how to I would set up a survey on here. It would go something like:
Who did you use?.....................................
How satisfied were you (1to5)
Did you have a problem Y/N
Was this sorted out by the company Y/N
Did you have to pay to get this sorted out Y/N

Here’s a list of vehicles (all pretty expensive) that I’ve either had chipped or remapped over the years with no issues:
Audi A6 AllRoad
Audi Q7
Mitsubishi L200
VW T6 Campervan
VW Crafter Campervan
Adria A Class MH - Ducato 3.0 - current van
