refillable gas Installation

But do Gaslow still approve this sort of fitting? The brochures/info showing that is from a few years ago and I can't find anything on their site now about it being fitted that way - can you find anything that is 'up to date' from them?
Yes they do support this method of fitting and every single filling kit sold (thousands a year )
has these fitting instructions enclosed.
I just confirmed this with Gaslow technical his reply is as follows :
“If they follow the Gaslow instructions and use a 90 degree filler elbow we will warranty the hose for 10 years”
I am a Gaslow dealer and fitter Gas safe Registered for lpg so in my world manufacturer’s instructors are gospel 👍⚠️

I have fitted my own and used the same filler that Minxy Girl has, fastened to the rear bumper, but as to fitting one to the locker door, why there would be a problem, because once fitted there will be no need to open the door again.
Gaslow state the cylinders should be turned off for filling 👍
I have a customer coming over this weekend with an over filled underslung tank which has blown his regulator twice now ⚠️

Yeah, I know that just wasn't thinking :(

The hole saw bit is daunting.

Start a thread first, ask questions and post pictures up of your locker are area around it and go from there,if after that your not confident then seek an installer.
There are hole saws and hole saws. Get one made by such as Starrett as they come with a proper arbor (the saw holder) and have a hex shaped shank to fit in the drill chuck so no slipping. The arbor can be used for a range of saw sizes and much better than the cheap ones which are almost use once and throw them away after use.
Always drill a small pilot hole first for the hole saw drill to follow. If the hole is small enough and you realise it is not quite in the correct space you can fill it and start again, but remember the old adage, measure twice and cut once! Also, start with the drill on a slow speed as they are very efficient cutters.

Auchan's DIY filling station at Boulogne is a case in point should you need both, fresh off the Chunnel - the diesel pump requires you to pull up with the pump on your LHS but the LPG is the other side of the vehicle already on your right, and both sides have a queue behind you and the adjacent vehicle ……. out of the filling station onto the exit road from the entire shopping 'estate', hang a right and then turn left onto the estate again, round the first island inside the estate and double back towards the exit from the estate and hang another right into the filling station and repeat …...
In other words, enter slowly despite the queue behind and get the position sorted first!

Yup. My locker door is sandwich construction with an ali skin each side so when I fitted mine I drilled the pilot hole right through both skins from one side then used the hole cutter to cut the outside filler unit hole from the outside and the inside hole from inside which makes a much cleaner job of it.

Fitted my Gasit system myself. No problem but buy the complete installation kit as i bought bits and pieces myself and had to re-order some fittings.
Drilling the hole was not a problem but i thought the skirt was a bit flexible so fitted a small support strap. Now really sturdy especially when filling and having the weight of the filling hose bearing on the skirt.
For peace of mind i had the installation tested (£25) and informed the insurance. They didn't want to see the test certificate, only wanted to know i had one in the event of a claim.
I also informed them about the extras to basic model i.e. solar panel, 2nd leisure battery, air suspension and weight upgrade. No change to price, no add on costs.
Just filled up my 11 & 6 Kg bottles for ~ £14 (25L). Payback for diy installation ~ 3 years depending how much you use them.
Peace of mind/satisfaction = 100% 😎
