Some....good & bad!
Traveling back from Somerset to Northampton in August and fancy 3 night in Cotswolds.
Walking distance to watering holes/village etc.

Anyone have any favourites or recommendations please?

Tewkesbury, Broadway and Moreton in Marsh Caravan Club sites are good too 😀

We like Tewkesbury too. Not what I would call proper Cotswold though! Cirencester Park, Moreton-in-Marsh, Broadway would fit the bill.

CMC chopped down most of the internal trees when they refurbished Tewkesbury Abbey Site. There is a lack of shade on many pitches which might be significant to the OP in the event of a heatwave.

We live in the Cotswolds and would also recommend Cirencester, Broadway and Moreton in Marsh but it is also worth considering Burford.

NOT at the c&mc site which is a distance out of Burford (on a busy road with no footpath) but this one below which is behind Burford school at the top of Burford itself which is a really lovely place to visit.

Wysdom looks perfect if we didn't have our 11 year old grandaughter with us, adult only.

Wondered if Cirencester might be a bit busy? Seems huge!

Broadway looks good, there is a CAMC & CCC, any preferences?

Anyone stayed at the Lower Lode Inn at Tewkesbury?

Just checked the price for CAMC Broadway! o_O:oops:

We are currently at the Friars Court CL , well worth at least one night. Ye Olde Swan Pub short stroll away.

It’s in a lovely spot in Cirencester and there is plenty to do. If you have your 11 year old grand daughter the open air pool in Cirencester is just a walk through the park and backs onto the Bathurst estate, you can book online

There is lots going on in Cirencester itself including the Corinium museum .

£45.40 per night mid week
In July……..? The most I could see was £41.30 for 2 adults…..

(but still quite expensive……)

If you are a member of the c&cc there is a temp holiday site at Bourton Rovers FC at Bourton on the Water , the model village was a firm favourite for a visit in my childhood.

As my original post stated, August and the grand child is extra.

Seems a bit more reasonable than Broadway CAMC @ £37.40 per night so might give it a go.

Thanks

It’s a nicer walk into Ciren from the site through the Bathurst Estate, than from Broadway along the road too! (y)

The CAMC Avon Centre have rally this weekend at Bourton On The Water, we shall be there Wednesday to Sunday. Right near the centre of town. Bourton is a lovely village.
£58 for four days.

I couldn't say a bad word about this from cotswolds

Just come back from Hayles Fruit Farm, Winchcombe. . £25 per night. Has everything you need including alcohol. Highly recommended.

The carp farm and football club sites at Bourton on the water are really good, on the negative side Bourton itself is a heaving mass of bodies from June till september!

I would like to try the Broadway site but refuse to pay the ridiculous site fees. Sadly the same applies to so many C&MC sites now. Yes it’s a business BUT it’s supposed to be for members not the wealthy!
it’s now often much cheaper to use commercial sites or even better, CLs, many of which now have full facilities.
I’ve been a member of the club for almost 40 years now but use them less and less due to crazy pricing.

I recommend the Bridge House campsite at Lechlade. Right next to the river and the village. Lovely walks.

Yes, we tend not to go to Bourton, except on Christmas Day when there are (relatively) few people about……… ;)

Stopped at the THS last August, got a real shock at how the town was heaving with people, crowds were unbelievable.

Wysdom Touring Park at Burford. Great site at the top of the hill behind Starbucks. Ask for pitch 12. It’s a corner pitch with loads of room and a little garden to yourself.

I'd love to but it's adult only as already stated.
