Hi everyone,
Looking to buy a rear bike rack to fit to the rear of our Matrix 670DC Supreme. There are obviously external mounting points on the rear and have seen many Matrix with bike racks, so my question is do you just remove the plugs from the fittings and bolt the rack on and do most racks fit the matrix ie Fiamma, Thule and has anyone got one for sale?

Many thanks

Paul

No they aren't plugs, don't force them off. Prise off the end caps, you will see a small torx head screw. Remove it and the clip it holds. You will then see the head of a long round bolt. Pull it out to release the caps. This bolt is also used to hold the bike rack in place.

If you already have the rails fitted it's dead easy to fit the rack.

I have a bike rack I don't use. I am in Cornwall at the minute but returning to Brecon soon.

i recently changed a Fiamma rack into a Thule lift bike rack, so have most of the fittings still available - i can send you photos of how i did it if it helps you out.

The Thule fittings are different from the Fiamma fittings although the pipe sizes seem identical, they just put different ends in the tubes where they fit onto the rails
