rb panel van conversion begins !

Well we are back at the regal compound. We've had an early meal out at the Stanhope Arms. http://www.stanhope-arms.co.uk/special_menus/main menu.pdf
Very nice . Just as it was the last time we went.
Popped open a bottle of bubbly and are chilling in Pug.
We're actually going to watch "northern soul" a DVD I bought when the film first came out. We never even got around to watching it !
Seeing as though the soul rally is coming up in a couple of weeks , and I've got Ralph's full attention, it would be rude not to !
http://www.theguardian.com/film/video/2014/sep/10/northern-soul-trailer-video
Tommorow we shall go into town and try and kill time. Once we've given all our wish list to Regal.
We've not brought Buster. So if the weather is rubbish we can go into shops pubs restaurants etc. We shall keep you all posted. Thanks for all the lovely comments and anniversary wishes.
Bev and Ralph. ( rb conversions !! )

No chance jock. They've seen the progress , I've sent pics.
It's down to the underwriters. I've got to get the corian work surface cut yet. ( don't want to risk doing it myself ! )
So the sink and cooker aren't in situ. Nor the fridge.
Insurance runs out the end of the month. We will have to go with another company . Just a shame they couldn't let me have another month. They did try. Saying they could see I was doing a proper job.
We're both off to Regal furnishings tomorrow .
We can't lose our spot for the upholstery . So although we'd have liked to be doing the upholstery as the last thing , at least it will make us one step nearer to finishing.
We didn't plan on spending our 20th wedding anniversary on an industrial estate ! But at least we're away !
Happy anniversary, in such lovely surroundings xx

We've had a nice meal out , cracked open the bubbly ( nearly gone now) and are chilling. Ralph's having a much deserved rest.
Watching corrie then the Soul Film then who knows. Ralph's luck may be in......

Well , Pugs all set for his transformation.
Barry Hartley , who actually owns Regal, has talked through everything we require. Given us a few tips and tweaked a few of our wants. He's cutting our foam to fit , as I type.
Because we are never going to make up a double bed, he suggested having sloping back rests to the U shape lounge seats. Brilliant idea. (y)
We are going to have a day in Derby now. Maybe if we squint our eyes a bit we can pretend we're in Bruges

Well were home.
All we can say is Barry and his fantastic team have done a superb job. We honestly can't fault anything about the job , the staff, the whole experience.
While Ralph's catching up on his invoices I said I'd fill everyone in .

Pug was handed over to the Regal team at around 8 am. We had a good chat with Barry and Mick first . Decided not to put buttons on, have sloping back rests at the sides of the U, and 3 bolster cushions at the back of the U. They are like squishy cushions , instead of the firm ones. But still have the leather all around the edges.

We handed over the keys and went for an excellent bacon egg and mushroom " cob" at the nearby Cafe. Which was spotless btw. Not like the usual greasy spoons on industrial estates.

Then we were given a lift to the bus stop and caught a bus into Derby . While they worked their magic on Pug.

We had a lovely lunch at Wagamama , bought a few bits and bobs in the huge shopping centre.
Before we knew it it was half three and time to get the bus back.

Mick picked us up from the bus stop again. Pug was ready for half four.

It would have been ideal to have the upholstery done as the final touch. But as we still have doors to hang , corian work surface to cut, sink , cooker, fridge and all under slung tanks to do. Pug still needs finishing off.
Anyway below are some pictures , of Regals excellent work.

Below is the rb logo we decided to have. We shall have it on each side of the van , and one at the back on a door.

We've put the bumper bar trims below, on the bulk head. Then one above the back doors, and one each side of the U shape . Below the over head cupboards. You can just about see them on the first picture.

We love it, and would thoroughly recommend Regal Furnishings to anyone.
Cost £ 1,750 including vat. We provided the fabric , not the leather.
Here's Barry the owner and thoroughly nice chap, with Ralph.

Excellent - I must admit it looks better than i thought it would - and that rb Logo looks really trick i must say, adds a little class to the van me thinks - Now don't go showing off too much you pair, its very easy to get to dislike someone you know :LOL::LOL::LOL: Great job and money well spent i think (y)

Wow Ralph & Bev.

Pug's interior looks fantastic, with a great choice and blend of materials and colours. :)
I do like the personalised logo. (y)

We shan't see Pug at The Northern Soul meet (incapacitated), nor at Misterton, but do look forward to seeing her/him some time soon.

Well done you two. (y)

Very nice, well done you and Regal

That looks great. I had my doubts when I read about the logo but now I've seen it any doubts have gone. Very clever and modern looking.

What a lovely job! Now to publish a book to cover your costs... seriously good work enhanced by Regal as the icing on your cake.

Have been watching your build. Lovely job, envious of your skill & dedication.
Barrie & Lin
Thanks for everyone's kind comments. Yes we love Regals work. I'm glad Bev spotted the fabric, And that they let us use it.
We are glad we did the rb logo. We don't plan on selling Pug ever.
Our reg is RB14PUG too!
@bjandlin I didn't know I could do it either . Never done any joinery before, other than knocking 4x2 together. I'm a builder by trade .

I've found someone to cut the corian worksurface finally. So when he can fit me in, I can crack on putting the cooker and sink in.
Still waiting for the hinges to put the overhead locker doors on too.
We've still not decided if we are doing cream or chocolate high gloss in the kitchen area , or walnut throughout. Paperwork this weekend. Got to catch up , Work wise, get some invoices sent out.
Soul rally next weekend , Sorry you can't make it @JockandRita Then back on the build. I'll keep you all posted.
