Rapido Shower Drain Blocked - How does the drain come out?

Called them this morning to order a spare and they will get back to me. Whilst on the phone I wanted to order a replacement washroom plug (the type that pushes down and locks and then push again to drain) but I was told they been discontinued. Even on a 2019 motorhome rapido have discontinued them. They are going to contact rapido to see what they suggest but I think it's pretty bad to not have a suitable replacement. Means we need cannot hold water in the bathroom in the sink. Not a show stopper but more of a pain really.
Any thing in the " Click Clack" basin plug range that might fit? Screwfix/Toolstation Etal. How goods access? You may have to double hole out the waste hole to the appropriate replacement size.

Can you remove the old one and take other to a plumbers merchant to see if they can supply it or ignore not just am ordinary waste trap went ha plug.
Sure can as the wash basin one just pulls out. It looks a specific size to be able to fit back in. Looked on ebay as there seems to be lots for sale but they look to big in the bottom end.

Is it not just ab o ring that seals?
Possible to get a new one to fit the plunger part

Its not that part that has broken. It's the bit where it clicks to stop water draining in the wash basin. It goes down but not up, obviously this is secondary to the original shower drain problem

If it's like the carthago ones the middle bit pulls out, try levering with a couple of tea spoons. Also there should be a trap somewhere in the drain pipe.
You may already of sorted it as I am late to the thread..
I always use a long cable tie or put 2 together. If you cut a few notches along it to create a few "barbs" then poke it into the plug hole.
Usually a few up and down motions will drag all the gunge etc out.
Works in the plug hole in your house too.
Good luck..

They are called 'click-clack' sink plugs, we had to purchase one for our Elddis, plenty of sizes on flea- bay.

None of the plumbing bits like the shower drain will be specific to a Motorhome manufacturer they will be brought in generic parts.
If you go to the manufacture it's likely to cost you an are and leg.
Just need to do some Internet searching, bear in mind most parts will come from German or Italian producers.

I had some small bendable wire but I cannot see where the water actually drains so the wire won't go in very far.

Did look on ebay but couldn't see one that looks similar. We are on our way back to the UK now so once back it will be easier to search.

Just need to ensure it fits into the little hole that in turn keeps it in place and more importantly it then stops the water from going down in the sink.

I would try using a Drain Snake (£4.99 for 2 on Amazon) followed by a dishwasher tablet dissolved in boiling water, then go for a drive. The dishwasher tablet should help dissolve grease and gunge, the drain snake will clear any blockages from hair etc.

Nothing to lose, but best not to pour boiling water down the plughole as there's the very real possibility of deforming the pipework and then ending up with a whole world of grief. Your vehicle manual might offer some guidance on this.

drain snake would not work I am afraid as there appears to be no hole that I can get to past the first 10cm. Tried all angles but can't find the hole where it eventually goes down, I am wondering if there is some sort of filter in place which is stopping me putting wire or similar down there.

Some outlets act like a sump. The outflow into the sump raises the water over the lip and flows out the outflow pipe.
Poking down from the basin will only hit the bottom of the sump.
Good for catching jewellery, but gunk accumulation needs the plug mechanism removed to clean. Also not accessable from below.

Not sure about "Rapido's" but the click clack fitting in my Elddis is a standard plumbing fitting. We went metric years ago, in line with the EU so should ( yeah right) be interchangeable! The chrome top unscrews (should be hand tight) which then reveals a brass (sometimes plastic) mechanism. This also unscrews (probably needs a spanner) both parts are readily available from reputable plumbers merchants. (Note:- chains like Plumbase etc. will only stock their designated makes!) The diameter of the chrome part makes no difference as its the brass/plastic bit that actually does the work. It best to get a larger diameter chrome bit as it will make it easier to remove, in the future.

At home always use caustic soda and boiling water.Clears all the gunge and doesn't damage the plastic pipes
