I have a Rapdio 10000 tag axle and the shower has always drained slowly but now it's not draining at all. I have tried the usual hot water / bicarb soda / vinegar but so far no good.
From the looks of it the drain part is fixed but I have read that this may not be the case. Any one know if this silver part in the attached picture comes out?
Tried pulling it gently but it's quite firmly in there and I don't want to force it if it's not meant to come out.
Any help appreciated

Is it possible to clean it from.below the motorhome? It may involve cutting and replacing pipework, but that's probably a better solution than trying to replace the waste fitting if that gets damaged ( and you would have to dismantle the pipework anyway)

If it's like the carthago ones the middle bit pulls out, try levering with a couple of tea spoons. Also there should be a trap somewhere in the drain pipe.

The whole chrome part lifts out with a 50mm seal beneath it to reveal the trap basket below. It's a tight seal if it hasn't been removed for a while so you need to get a bit tough with it.

Not touched this for over 7 years, didn't want to force it and then create more problems on the last few days of our trip

Do you have a wet and dry vacuum cleaner, [ Charles Pneumatic/ Screwfix], set it up for wet and try and suck the obstruction back, you can then gently untangle and remove what's likely a hair ball and soap blockage.
Mike.
Got one at home so may try this with when we get back and then try lifting it out if that don't work

May be an option but not going to try that here but will deffo look when we get back.

Emailed brownhills and the technician has said its sealed and cannot be removed which is a real pita. (If that's true as I am never sure of their advice) strangely enough they have advised to use something called puriclean which from what I can see has nothing to do with blockages. I just emailed them again to confirm what they have said.
It's slowly draining after using some baking soda and white vinegar so not urgent but I need to get it sorted.

we have an 8096df, the shower drain is a bit different in that there is a plastic insert that can either act as a filter (hair) or closes off the drain depending on where it is positioned by turning it. If you see what I mean. If it won't pull out which our can will it turn?

If all else fails try a sink plunger thing.

See if you can get hold of one of the pressure blowers for clearing drains/plug holes, QVC did them, its like a bike pump with an air reservoir that you pre charge and then fit over the plug hole with a seal with the kit, various sizes provided, then fire off the charge. Its worked clearing our shower and a neighbours dishwasher that was blocked. If the charge cant free the blockage then overnight with a causitc solution may be an option. Temu may do something like it

Ignore the flaked chrome and missing o-ring seal but I can't find a replacement chrome bit and the seal is in the post

Looks like an o-ring seal is missing in above image. Brownhills might have used a sealant on instal and therefore "sealed". Otherwise earlier comment might help with a twist and pull. Hopefully, the original seal may have perished a tad.

It's just a regular o-ring seal which I was replacing when I took the photos - 45mm I think - Brownhills are just giving duff info for whatever reason

Your drain looks a little different as mine has 3 legs that go over from the middle to outer edge. Not sure if that makes a difference or not, what year is your motorhome as ours is a 2017 as maybe things have changed?
Appreciate the advice

Way older at 2011 but I can't see any reason why manufacturers would mess about with it. Ours has the 3 legs and took some oomph to remove it but it's more robust than it looks

Not heard of these before but they sound like something I need to take a look at. Any pics

I think if all else fails I will deffo need to try this. We are on our last night so back in the UK from Sunday late. Just glad it happened at the end of the trip and not at the start. I am never sure about the advice from the dealer as it really does depend on who they are asking.

Don't use a pressure blower as it may blow off one of the fittings underneath, then you'll really be in trouble. I cleared mine with a bit 42mm or 50mm wastepipe over the outlet, filled the tray with water then blew gently down the pipe. Hope this helps you. Good luck.

An old skool rubber sink plunger is the best way to improve drainage in an emergency situation

The technician is wrong, our was exactly the same as the one in your picture, the chrome cover does come off with a little patience and a wiggle and pulled from the centre but to will be a tight fit. The actual trap is below it with a hole to the side which takes the water to the drain. If you do break it the world won't end and they are available , we bought a new on since I damaged ours cleaning it. I think we got it from Wokingham Motorhomes a Rapido dealer, you could try the before you attempt to get it off just in case.

Yep, having a spare is a sure fire way to that part never ever needing to be used ;) The gods of Motor Homing look and laugh.
Mike.

I think I will call them Monday and order a spare so I can see what it's like as if I do break it then at least like you said I have one ready to go.
It's not been touched in over 7 years so I expect it will break if I force it.

Unfortunately it comes as a whole unit but you will only need the chrome top cover.

Remember that many of the waste fittings are push fit, so it the blockage is after a push fit joint, you are likely to blow the joint apart. Possibly in an inaccessible place. A wet vac works much better in this scenario

Called them this morning to order a spare and they will get back to me. Whilst on the phone I wanted to order a replacement washroom plug (the type that pushes down and locks and then push again to drain) but I was told they been discontinued. Even on a 2019 motorhome rapido have discontinued them. They are going to contact rapido to see what they suggest but I think it's pretty bad to not have a suitable replacement. Means we need cannot hold water in the bathroom in the sink. Not a show stopper but more of a pain really.
