Rapido i1090 A Class query

AL I would go for the 9200 or 8000 series on larger awning with 230v motor ( roller shutter tube motor) you get a hand remote control were you have full control over opening and closing, not sure about the 12v version but think they just have a rocker switch to open and close not a remote. hi Dave

the option for the 240v motor is only on the roof mounted 9200 series which goes out 3 mtrs which we don’t want, the 6300 is a 2.5mtr awning that suits us better mate but it’s 12v with a button control

Do you or anyone know if it can be made remote?

will something like this do

<Broken link removed>

cheers

Al

Al your right about the 9200 which we have it does come out 3m, the problem with the 12v one is it hasn't got wireless capability and just works of a hard wired switch I believe.

Al, don't know who you have spoke to about your awning but I used this guy very knowledgeable and beat everyone on price.

I’ve been on their website and will call him Monday as it looks like he might have one in stock, I’m having to wait until March poss April, it’s a company in Hull, Rose International who SAP deal with where it’s coming from Dave

The ebay link I showed you, I was asking if the 12v one could possibly be made into a remote option using that kit, not that’s it’s imperative it is, but just a nice feature to have 👍

I was hoping Lenny HB was gonna chime in with his wisdom ;)
Should work OK just need to open the Thule control box and connect the relay outputs from the wif receiver across the switch contacts. May need a bit of delicate soldering as it will probably be all SMA components.

Al, just thought of a cheaper wireless version you could use Val and it would cost you nowt. 😂

Well
the good news has finally arrived :clap2:, Mick from SAP I understand has finished all the work to the new Rapido and I can collect it in the morning, all the "extras" are fitted and hopefully working just in time for the March 1st lift off day. We are heading south going to Whitchurch if anyone knows where that is to do the "Bombay Sapphire" brewery tour then a bit of tootling around for a week to bed the van in and see if it all works as it should.

Any pointers for places to stay and see are most welcome, i'm praying for a decent week as its operation time for me the week after so out of action for 3/6 weeks by all accounts

Wish us luck

a quick nip over to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & Canal if you havent been before its breathtaking., going "over the top"
there are a few PUB stops but if you want a nice plug in then Plassey has all the amenities, a nice pub, few shops, indoor pool and golf.
