Radio apps.

https://www.freeformportland.org/ are an interesting online radio station.
Staffed by volunteers.
This guy's radio show is great but not all the DJ have themes. Noah Fence's theme is garage/alt indie.

Re pod casts
Some of the ones I like,
Most are on the BBC site

The Curious Cases of Rutherford & Fry
History Extra
Comedy of the week
More or less
Friday Night comedy
The Sceptics Guide
Scotland Outdoors
The Outdoor Station
The Infinite Monkey Cage
GPS Training

Not sure any will be to your taste
Easy enough to delete if you don't like them

Think it’s time you joined the 21st century, he asked for radio apps etc....

Scroll to the bottom of the radio Caroline page and you’ll find the app.

I have a Bose speaker the sound quality is excellent and the battery lasts up to 12 hours and it's neat and portable, great for taking in the motorhome. I listen a lot to the Magic Soul App as I like that type of music.

Simple radio for me too, Re 350 CD's record them all to a hard drive on a computer as a backup and then copy them to your phone presuming you have a smart phone with sufficient storage, (I have 568 albums or 2635 tracks on mine) you can then play them through a decent bluetooth speaker when ever you wish, and flog the CD's on ebay.

Oh Please! No, if you sell the CD you've lost the legal copy of your music.

Actually, you're right I'd forgotten about that so don't sell them put them in the attic. :giggle:

dBpoweramp will rip to FLAC mp3 and other lossless & lossy formats.
More than one format at a time. That feature was news to me until recently.

I need/like mp3 v0 for iPhone & FLAC for the hifi NAS as two separate rips for ~10yr.
And just the last 2 weeks as one pass when I realised there was that ability :xdoh:

I have ripped all my CDs to FLAC and my iPhone caches are ALAC. I now find MP3 second rate and stick to lossless formats wherever possible. I used to say I only had MP3 ears but now I think I must be turning into an aural snob.

If my ears were easily spotting the difference between mp3 v0 / mp3 320kbps and lossless that might be a curse rather than a blessing 🤔
I’ve had more music than iPhone storage for years even with lossy compression 😜

I know rippers that choose lower quality mp3 settings than I do & those are thin sounding & horrible.

edit: I collect almost exclusively alt. Rock & inde music.

Storage space is a factor and 320kbps is a listenable level but still a lot less than the original CD rate of 1411kbps.
