Just found out that LV= only cover glass windows.
So if your MH has plastic habitation windows they are not covered by insurance.
I assume that this also applies to roof vents.

Confirmed that Comfort do cover all windows, glass or plastic.

That is not what LV told me. LittleGreyCat ,were you advised this by LV directly. If so, I may need to seek written confirmation from them.

It is in their documentation, and I rang them this morning to confirm and was told that the windscreen/window policy did not cover plastic windows.

Edit: "
Windscreen and window glass - you're covered for damage to the windscreen or window glass including sun-roofs.
ADAS recalibration costs and any resultant scratching of the bodywork. We may use a suitable replacement not supplied
by the original manufacturer but it will be of a similar quality. Your premium may increase following a claim, but as long as
there's no other loss or damage - your NCD won't be affected.
We won't pay more than the market value of your car or repair or replace any windscreens or windows not made of
glass.

Adding to that; they only cover windscreens up to £600. A stone smashed our windscreen (van parked on our driveway) and new windscreen on our Flair is going to cost nearer £6k. A painful and expensive learning experience in our first year so now we are moving to Caravan & Motorhoming club who have unlimited windscreen cover, even for A class vans. I think that Aviva also has unlimited cover but apparently many insurance companies have a limit; is this something to do with the parlours state of UK roads I wonder?

You are not the first to be caught out with being under insured for your windscreen. £600 should cover you for a bog standard Fiat windscreen, but anything bespoke like you'll find in A-Class vans can run into many thousands. I know a guy who sold an RV for scrap as the windscreen replacement cost was going to be about twice what the old RV was worth!

I almost wish that had been an option but even although 2002 it’s still a great Motorhome.

You dont get a full copy of the motorhome t&c's.

They issue the car policy hence you buy direct mention all accesories and cost, ask if everything covered.

I queried the plastic windows, LV said they are covered on the MH policy

Always read the small print and ask about anything you're unsure about meaning and ask if xyz covered. Not person and date and

Took best part of an hour on the phone to LV to save £250.

ONLY buy LV insurance direct. Otherwise you get watered highway policy.

I contacted LV recently due to queries with our motorcycle policies (LV have recently pulled out of that market) and also asked about their Motorhome coverage. The guy I spoke too suggested that they treat it largely as base vehicle insurance as opposed to more specialist Motorhome coverage like other insurance providers (contents, accessories, windscreens/windows etc), the onus being on the customer to verify and decide which insurer provides the requisite cover for their needs. But I’ve not personally looked at their policy details to cross reference with others.

My car and home are insured with LV……but I’ve got everything I need written in the Policy Documents etc.

Don’t like the idea of having to list everything I’ve got bolted onto the van…..solar, MiFi, Gaslow, Alpine Media Unit etc etc…….too many ways for them to side step a claim. 🤔

Try Lifesure.
