Quarantine rules - what's your interpretation?

But ARE they getting out to check gas?

i was just asked the question. Not asked to show them this time.

Been on 6 ferries - France and Spain - in last 2 months.

Not asked on any to switch off gas

I was asked to get out of the vehicle, open the gas compartment and turn the regulators off to prove. It was off anyway of course. And the chap was very pleasant about it - just doing his job.
Loving the comments on here. Never thought about those who were supposed to be quarantining being in immediate breach if they got out their cars in "UK France" (before boarding the train).
It's all a bit bonkers really. If we can see these contradictions surely those making up the rules can?

Not a chance...............

You have to wonder whether we really have 'experts' running this 'show' ... because it is exactly that
- 'a show'..

Nah because it's all being made up as they go along its been the same all the way through remember you can't stay overnight but can travel any distance?

With the amount of experts here on Fun and elsewhere I can't understand why Covid is still an issue
I'm not sure I'm claiming to have a solution to the whole pandemic - merely what us mortals can do to try to live a reasonable life, contribute to the economy and take as few risks as necessary.

We have booked to return with Le Shuttle (just over £200 one way) as the ferries all say you have to self isolate for 14 days on return to the UK, :Le Shuttle say that you follow theUK guidance on transiting a country etc and you do not need to self isolate. If you transit a country without stopping or if you do stop but no-one gets in or out of the vehicle then you do not need to self isolate if you travel with Le Shuttle as you must stay in your vehicle at all times until you have officially arrived in Folkstone. Fortunately I can turn off the gas internally as there is a secondary gas valve inside a locker blocking off the entire gas system. However, the Aire I have used before is so remote that the likelihood of you meeting anyone is remote so getting out for a few seconds to shut off the gas is not an issue really. Another thing, use a Stellplatz in Germany as your last stay point as close to the border with Netherlands or Belgium, etc. Fill up before leaving Germany enough to get home before setting off.
The whole time we have been in Germany since 13th August we have only used the motorhome toilet and discharge at the usual points which can be a pain if you have to use the toilet but visiting a town so having to walk back and forth. BTW we went to Michelstadt NE of Heidelberg where the Stellplatz is part of the very large free car park with EHU's for €1 and alarge number of connections. Only 300 metres to the old town centre which is well worth the visit.
