Looking for a decent side door flyscreen.

Not a sliding Dometic one as it's not easy to retrofit.

Also don't want the faff of the stick on velcro type as the glue tends to melt in hot weather.

Came across these Nozone screens and they look pretty good. I like how they are secured through the door seal. Also the 'entrance' is in the correct place as it has an offset opening which works with a side kitchen.

Dies anyone have one, or suggest something similar.

Thanks

Ours is home made and consists of a spring loaded expanding pole and a flexible mesh cut to size. Held in place down the sides by magnets sewn into pockets made in the screen mesh.
Certainly not perfect but works and cost just over a tenner. We already had the pole.

A bit of curtain wire stretched across the opening at the top housing with a small hook midway as it sagged slightly.

We bought a large grey net curtain from Dunhelms for about £7 and Judy cut it to size for the drop and sewed it off.

Next we purchased some weighted lead curtain hem from ebay for a couple of quid, this stops the bottom of the curtain flapping around in the breeze and is slotted into the base, Judy put in a few stiches to stop it sliding around in the bottom of the curtain in use.

Curtain Hem 100g Sew In Lead Cord / Rope weights - Sold By The Metre | eBay

Next job was to attach a few strategically placed pop studs on to the curtain to keep it shut, carefully placed where they can be accessed from inside and outside of the van.
The right hand side of the curtain was then carefully 'wedged' in between the door close rubber seal and a few more pop studs added near the door close area and a few bits of looped velcro to hold it back when not being used.

Not as fancy as one of those cassette blinds you can get but at a fraction of the cost, probably about £20 all in. It probably won't keep all the determined little 'bug' gers out but it will do for us.

Thanks. We’ve got a factory fitted fly screen with our 2021 Globecar Roadscout Elegance. unfortunately, it’s stuck already after 1 year and minimal use and anyway it might work for mosquitos but it isn’t fine enough for midges.

We have one too that is broken. OH has spent hours on it but I’m tempted to source an alternative.

Does anyone have expierence with this one? Looks pretty much like the Nozone one based on the installation guide on amazon but it's much cheaper.

I'll take pictures of ours tomorrow in the daylight, but ours came from Lidl's last year, designed for house doors but fitted perfectly on the van 👍

Visited one of the big motorhome shows many years ago to see what was available before we eventually had our van built because none of the mainstream converters had what we wanted...
However looked at one and silly me literally touched the sliding door fly screen.... and it fell off...
Embarrassment.. however salesman came over and said, don't worry sir, they are always doing that... they not really fit for purpose... Mmmmm I thought..

Got this from amazon. Our van has some sort of felt inside to which the fuzzy side of velcro sticks perfectly. On the metal side, I just used the adhesive velcro it came with. There are magnets down the middle which are very effective, and it's weighted at the bottom. I think I was about £30. Looking to get one for the back door now.
