We went from a Hymer B544 to a PVC Westfalia Columbus 6.36 long and like all Fiat Ducato vans the body was 2.05 wide.

With a 180HP engine we could go absolutely anywhere. We stayed with the Comfortmatic robotised auto box which was our third. We always used Adams Morey who know more than most about that box.

Good insulation underfloor heating and the ability to sleep 4 or even 5 people made it a winner.

Narrow lanes and mountain climbing up hairpin bends was for us much easier and more relaxed in the PVC than in the A class.

So for us a PVC - sadly now even shorter than before!
Same here. Westfalia Columbus 641e. Really love the underfloor heating when skiing. And with 150W solar and 230Ah LiPO4 underseat battery we only use hook-up when in a campsite to do our laundry.
And the filler converts the two single beds in to a massive double. The underbed garage allows us to carry two sets of golf clubs, trolleys, and more and more.

Devon Aztec XL

14 years with an RV
Update,

Well, we bought a Devon Aztec XL. Local MoHo, been registered on the Island since new (2014). So far we have cleaned, adjusted, and put our stamp on it, ready for a shake down this weekend, weather dependent.

It suits us as a couple, a go anywhere motorhome for day trips, nights out, or longer tours. Not many miles on it, lovely condition, and service history.

Not being familiar with the Ducato chassis, I have a problem whereby the leisure battery is not being charged by the engine. The chassis battery is fine and charging as it should, but, not the leisure.

Is anyone out there who can shed some light as what i can try please?

Craig

I do not know which PSU 12v habitation system Devon use , but ,there may be fuse that needs replacing on the habitation PSU/fuse box or it is possible that other fuses are to be found behind a panel at the bottom of the driver side B pillar just behind the drivers seat which are linked to the split charging system. (if the fridge is a gas/12v/230v type is it working on the 12v setting , with the engine running ?)
