PVC/Campervan

Once the three kids stopped coming away with us we decided we wanted something that would suit our type of camping . Which is basically wild and secluded. With the very rare rally thrown in !
We downsized from a 2006 Mizar gtl top class 6/7 birth .
To Pug.
Which Ralph converted from a brand new Peugeot.
We love our XLWB PVC or Pug as he’s lovingly called. He’s got everything we want in him and nothing we don’t. Built totally by Ralph to our very particular hi spec.

Here’s a link to the build thread if you fancy a look at the build and interior . We’ve actually more storage space , insulation and comfort than the previous van.

Finally the best choice our 2016 Globescout.
Comfortable large bed with 3 way fridge. No sola roof panel but carry a small briefcase one. We find the single leisure battery ok for our use.

Downsized last week! Herman the German was 6.7m (7.3 inc bike rack) and Herman Jr. is 6m!! We are now sorting through all the 'essential stuff' (y) that we have accumulated over the last 9 years and trying to find a space to put it! Needless to say, we have discovered that a lot of it was not 'essential'!

Andrew - our dogs may not even get a luggage allowance!!!

Bring on the narrow lanes!!

how are you finding the GC I have just looked at them, have you had a shower yet?

We bought the self built PVC we had mainly as it was a great tow wagon for when we trailering our classic cars and race cars to events, but we did find it a little cramped at times plus I'm not a lover of wet rooms and prefer a separate shower.

We moved back to a coach built which we love with the layout we now have but really miss the PVC for it's qualities that PVC's offer.

For a time while the PVC was up for sale we had the best of both worlds in that we went away in either the coach built or the PVC depending on what took our mood and where we were going.
We would have loved to have kept the PVC along with the Autoquest we now have but money and space said no.

Not yet! A dry run indicates that it will be an interesting experience ...... and meticulous planning and preparation will be the key!

We have also invested in a Colapz portable shower - mainly for the dogs - but we quite fancy an outdoor shower in the warmer weather if we pick a suitable spot! :whistle2:

When designing my van I decided not to include a shower cubicle, but I wanted an outside shower, for removing sand etc.

I came up with the tap on the sink which extends out through the side window (tap is a varible shower head) - works great

The old and the new. We miss the 7mt coachbuilt Bessacarr we had for four years, however, the 6mt Autocruise Accent PVC ticks so many more boxes for us, not least a more pleasurable driving experience, and we still use the Ventura Drive-away with it as well.

@CazPaul Its a Hymercar Grand canyon S, love it so far, only had it a couple of months.

Great stuff, just looked at them, is yours the 4x4 it looks like one from the wheel arch gap?
Yes its 4x4, totally ott for where we will be going, but i liked the look, and the deal was right and hopeful wont get stuck on a soggy field (famous last words):xgrin:

We just hang the normal shower out the window, works for dogs and sand.

Have you driven it in 4 wheel drive yet? You can set the 4 wheel drive when stationary or about 10mph, is that correct?

Yes that's right, I've only had it in fwd on the drive, it's a bit "clunky" when it engages, it doesn't have the low ratio box either I have been mening to give it a proper tryout, but haven't got around to it yet.

Autosleeper Kemerton for us. It’s the very first van we’ve had. I do sometimes yearn for a bigger van but remind myself how easy to drive park and store it is. Plus it’s cheap to run.

I think we got it right first time,
