If it is split it should be wet on both sides.Just a thought, is the diaphragm in good shape with no splits or tears? You will have to manipulate it with your fingers to check it

hi cant find that number on ebay ,,do you have a link to his website ?I picked mine up from a supplier on EBay. Just happened to be in Bolton where I live, he had all the different models on the selves.
thanks i will have another look ,,If it is split it should be wet on both sides.
hi mine says 4 pot does it need to be 4 pot replacement, as most available seem to be 3 but the have the same psi and flow rate ,,?Same make?
Same pressure?
Same flow rate?
hi thanks cris,,but mine wont even fill the boiler i have just rigged up a pipe to the pump into a water container and it wont draw it into the pump ,,just wish i could do another test ,,but cant find the exact same pump anywhere ,,i wont trust this pump now anytime i go away i be thinking its going break again ,,Hi, I had the same problem with my pump.i had the pipe pope off under the bathroom sink with the frost.,I repaired that and when switched on the pump kept running and no water at the taps.i took filter out and blow down the pipe towards the tank,I had resistance and the felt like something shifted.it still would keep running but no water, took off the filter in the taps themselves and they were full of grid/limescale flakes, cleared them and no problems after this . Just a thought as your bproblem sounds the same as the one I had.
Cheers Cris.
Try magnums in Grimsby, they are quite good at getting a hold of stuff.hi thanks cris,,but mine wont even fill the boiler i have just rigged up a pipe to the pump into a water container and it wont draw it into the pump ,,just wish i could do another test ,,but cant find the exact same pump anywhere ,,i wont trust this pump now anytime i go away i be thinking its going break again ,,
hi could be i have it in the garage rigged up to a 12v supply the electrical side ie pump shaft is spinning i have set up a pipe going into water bottle but it wont pull the water up through it i tried to pour some water through the pipe to see if it would prime it but nothing ,,cant see any rips tears or anything with the digagram ,,but could be wrongHave you tried vigorously shaking the pump, whilst it is running and trying to pull water through?
Possibly air in pump. Worth a try.
Its still looking like the motor shaft is disconnected/severed from the white 'wobble board' (you have pictured) as I suggested back in posts 19 & 23?hi could be i have it in the garage rigged up to a 12v supply the electrical side ie pump shaft is spinning i have set up a pipe going into water bottle but it wont pull the water up through it i tried to pour some water through the pipe to see if it would prime it but nothing ,,cant see any rips tears or anything with the digagram ,,but could be wrong
Sounds as if the pump's O.K. but the filter is sucking in air. If it is sucking in air you won't necessarily see any water leaking out. You could check that when removed by blocking the inlet side and sucking at the outlet side when no air should flow.the saga continues the pump set up in the garage works well ,,when i put it in the motorhome its pumping now but still not stopping ,,i removed the filter and connected on to pump without it,, worked straight away , and stops when boiler full, and taps not turned on ,,put the filter back on again it wont stop ,,cleaned filter in boiling water ,looks perfect i have asked shurflo tech team what replacement pump i should use ,,now mine is 20 psi ,,they have advised me on a 50 psi pump ,,that i queried ,,again saying that it will work ok in my setup ,,?
do you mean do this to the filter ,,?Sounds as if the pump's O.K. but the filter is sucking in air. If it is sucking in air you won't necessarily see any water leaking out. You could check that when removed by blocking the inlet side and sucking at the outlet side when no air should flow.
i try it again i never fitted the filter in the garage on the bench when it stated pumping straight away i thought it was cured filer looks perfect ,,Can you rig the pump and filter on the test bench but put filter after pump then block the outlet should see water come out of a crack then.
Yes, just test the filter. With the inlet blocked you shouldn't be able to suck any air at its outlet spigot/pipe.do you mean do this to the filter ,,?
Quite an advantage if you'd had some dodgy mussels over there........nothing leaking ,,cheeks clapped together......imagine this had happened in Spain or France ,,
Did the pump stop running when on the bench with the outlet blocked?the saga continues the pump set up in the garage works well ,,when i put it in the motorhome its pumping now but still not stopping ,,i removed the filter and connected on to pump without it,, worked straight away , and stops when boiler full, and taps not turned on ,,put the filter back on again it wont stop ,,cleaned filter in boiling water ,looks perfect i have asked shurflo tech team what replacement pump i should use ,,now mine is 20 psi ,,they have advised me on a 50 psi pump ,,that i queried ,,again saying that it will work ok in my setup ,,?
hi thanks but when i remove the filter and connect it up to the pump it works fine ie,,stops and starts on demand ,,i have the little filter soaking in boiling water going to see if the mesh is blocked or something try it in morning blow it out with the compressor?Did the pump stop running when on the bench with the outlet blocked?
If so, it sounds to me that if the filter isn't damaged or letting in air then air is getting into the piping somewhere between the filter and the tank. Possibly some air is being drawn at one of the hose connections.
Understood, but my thoughts were that air may be entering into the hoses/pipework before the filter. I.e. between the tank outlet and and the filter inlet.hi thanks but when i remove the filter and connect it up to the pump it works fine ie,,stops and starts on demand ,,
Hi yes full ...Understood, but my thoughts were that air may be entering into the hoses/pipework before the filter. I.e. between the tank outlet and and the filter inlet.
Silly thought, but........you do have plenty of water in the tank, don't you?
Yes, I'd overlooked that you mentioned that the pump shut off when installed without the filter fitted.Hi yes full ...
My thoughts were if there was a leak before the filter ..from the tank ..it would draw air ..filter or no filter ...bit it doing my head in now...
hi just blew out the filter mesh with the airline and its working could not believe it the filter looked spotless,,Yes, I'd overlooked that you mentioned that the pump shut off when installed without the filter fitted.
Nevertheless, in that case it would indicate that it's either the filter or its connections letting air in. (Or maybe something else )
Must admit I'm out of ideas now unless the check valve is playing up again although I can't see how fitting the filter would cause it to stick unless the filter is partly blocked and the 'sucking' pressure has increased so much that the valve is drawn so firmly into its seating that it sticks.
