Pros/Cons of leaving your motorhome on hook-up

Regarding draining the water, I can still see water in the shower drains, is this ok or should I be using something to force it out, just thinking of stagnant water?
Pour some anti-freeze down the drain, that will replace the water, make sure your grey waste tank drain is open

Your right, they don't.
What they do do is charge them the night before collection by the new owner when the battery has been flat for weeks or even months and the battery is knackered but shows enough charge to look ok .

Put it on charge for a few hours each week.
The battery will last far longer.
Yes, this happened to me in Spain.

Storing dealer kept it off charge, charged the day before collection.

First stop, step would not retract.

we went to view a house in Spain some time back. The owners only used it for about 8 weeks of the year.

They only had holiday clothes they Brought and took back.

To stop damp, they simply left all the windows with fly screens on cracked open. Not a sign of damp. Some other properties we viewed, all locked and sealed with luxury furniture, covered in mould and stank.

Cor blimey,20 years,is that a record? :giggle: What make of batteries do you have?
Knackered ones
As long as they're on hookup they will last for ever.
24 hours with normal 12v usage will see them totally dead.
Many vans don't even need a battery on hookup

Battery’s last 3 months without hook up when we are away no problems so don’t talk about what you don’t know also 3weeks in the alps at Christmas.

Depends on condition of battery & parasitic draw (new/year old), say parasitic draw is 60 milliamps, that means it will discharge the batteries at a rate of 1.44 Ah per day, just see what the draw is on your battery. That draw figure is What Banner Batteries told us when we used to sale them.
