Hi is it possible to perceptions on the road.. I'm hoping to take 6 months or more slowly exploring Scotland soon but can only get 3 months meds at a time... Is there any way around this or will I have to head back to South Wales from Scotland after 3 months to get more meds?

Just ordered and received 4 months supply from my local practice in Perth. Happy to forward details if you wish to try your luck with a Scottish practice.

One wonders why in this day and age fax is still in (very limited) use ?
What can it do that you can't do a lot better with a scanner and a laptop
Security is the main reason. Its end to end comms. In some countries e-mail is like broadcasting information.
In 2019 just before i retired we had 2 fax machines on a bench behind my upstairs desk churning out orders, mainly from Russia.

Seems to me the best bet is just to register as a Temporary patient just before you need a new prescription.
My previous GP printed out a second prescription "in error" and just handed it to me to be used when required.

Hi,
Hope this helps... I explained to my GP I was going traveling for a year and needed my meds. He issued a year's prescription; three months of which was free (I'm over 60) and I paid for the remaining nine packets (£9+ each I think).

On the NHS log in when I request repeat prescriptions and before I submit it I get asked if the nominated pharmacy is correct, and it gives me a chance to change it .
