Looking for our first MH and accepted wisdom seems to be start with a barely used premium brand

But which brands are these?

Hymer, Burstner, Knaus have cropped up - but I assume there are others

Dethleffs & Knaus are good, lots of Hymers about too.

I got rid of a "barely used" caravan that was only a few months old. Some nutter bought it even though it was riddled with design, structural and assembly faults including a cupboard falling off the wall for the second time, and a collapsing roof. I got my money back eventually, the nutter who bought it got a real lemon.

Moral, don't assume that "barely used" is always best.

I wouldn't class any of those as premium brands and I'm a Hymer owner, they are all good for mid range vans.

Look at N&B, Carthago, Frankie.

Niesmann & Bischoff are the best ( bit of bias though:LOL:) But there are loads it really depends what your budget is and how big you want to go. Its fair to say that unless you re looking for a PVC (panel van conversion) all the better quality stuff is over 3.5 tonnes.
MORELO are better:LOL: actually second thoughts ask me in a few years, N+B are quality vans.

Blasphemy, a HymerCar PVC is a quality machine (not much Bias here either)

Friend of mine spent a fortune on a new Cathargo after having numerous Hymers. Was happy to lose some money on it to get back into Hymers, said he couldn't believe the rattles. Perhaps a Friday afternoon one.

There are two, Concorde and Morelo and then there’s Vario but these are on another level.

From OP's other thread, I think those three together with Phoenix, even secondhand, are outside his budget.
