Power Banks

Have search of recent threads. People using bluetti, jackery, ecoflow and anker. Make sure it’s a lifepo and light enough for you to move about. Can’t argue with the ecoflow suggestion. I’m very happy with the anker.

My EcoFlow River Pro has been very useful in the van and outside it/in the house. Smaller than the Delta 2 which suits my needs and small van.

Very happy with my Anker too.Helped us out of numerous situations on top of it's intended use.

If I get a EHU Connector & plug into the Van socket how long would a 1500w P/Bank run the Van using W/pump ,toilet flush , lights ect taking it will be putting charge in Leisure Batt too,
PS Thanks for the recommendations too, Chris.

There has been plenty of discussions on the merits of power banks and their 'usefulness' ...... if you havent read them, they might be helpful in selecting the one that best fits your needs, i think Jim did an article on them ?

Why Lipo? Isn't LFP better? Lower self discharge, lasts more cycles, continues to provide power when it's cold (although you still can't charge it below zero) and not possible for it to self combust. Sure, it's a little less energy dense, but the boxes are half electronics anyway.

Edit... LiFePO4.... Ignore me...

Last year, I did 4 nights at Lyndon Top using only my Anker 757 [1229wh effectively 102Ah] in July and 4 nights at Shuttleworth in September, because I had no leisure batteries.
I used a 300w portable solar panel at Lyndon Top to replenish it but not at Shuttleworth.
I'm not a heavy user, so just pump/flush/lights/tv/echo dot. No leisure battery recharging.
Never went below 76%

I don't use it much, but when I do, it's been a 'lifesaver' for me & a couple of other Funsters
It's currently at £499 at Costco.

But given my time again, I'd probably have bought an Ecoflow Delta 2 because of it's power to weight ratio [IIRC half the weight of my Anker]

Ecoflow Delta 2 currently available on Amazon at £599:

Supposedly brand new just packaging damage. I looked at those and almost bought but then spotted a lightly used example local to me which I got for £400 just a few days ago.

My bet is that the discount from £899 to £599 is Ecoflow's way of maintaining a highish retail price but coping with Black Friday. Ecoflow are doing similar deals direct and via Ebay.

Having acquired a Delta 2 I have since got a good deal on a reconditioned 160W solar panel direct from Ecoflow - £134.10 delivered. That has yet to arrive but I have tested the Delta 2 and it completely lives up to expectations.

For me with an older van it is a much more economic than a full lithium upgrade. And yes I am also thinking of plugging into the EHU socket to keep pump and lights working on say the 3rd and subsequent nights on a site without a 240V EHU.

P.S. Good point about turning off the leisure battery charger!!

I also got a recon 160w solar panel from EcoFlow. But more than you paid but still a lot less than for new.
When it arrived, you would not know if was a recon unit. Looks totally new. Works well too .

Got this mailed to me from Ecoflow this morning which lists their current Black Friday offers:

By signing up to their mailing list you can get further discounts (which I did to purchase my 160 watt solar panel.)

Delta 2 £200 Dearer on that link ???
Still available at £599 via Amazon:

And the Ebay offer is exactly the same deal but at a better price. You just get plain packaging and a 2 year warranty rather than 5 year as I read it but otherwise what you get is identical.

These things will last for over a decade. I see no point in paying £899 when you can buy the same thing for £549.

I'd suggest jackery, ecoflow or anker.

I don't do enough off grid to justify upgrading my PVC to lithium, and just wanted enough to power my coffee machine when out and about.

Make sure that whichever you buy can provide enough power for the appliances you intend to use. In my case, I needed 1500W.

I bought an ecoflow delta 2. Not regretted it.

I've also found it useful for powering an induction hob outside the van (was cooking some smelly foods!). Also for powering lights at the end of the garden at home for a BBQ.
