Postcode on roof

All this talk of police helicopters seems to be missing one obvious advantage.

Motorway cameras. A lot of stolen motorhomes seem to be moved across the country. The motorways seems to be a route they probably use? Motorway cameras are high up and look down.

How about a large 18” Motorhome Fun smiley face and the end of the vin number

Yep, I've seen loads of them, you can't miss them, black & red stripey jumper with a bag marked 'swag' 🙂
Black and red ?? That's Denis the menace nasher.

Black and white stripes is the chosen attire for burglars

The next generation Ducato might have a telematic eCall system as standard. A free tracker, in effect. We can but hope ...

I will give thought to putting the last 4 digits of the VIN on our van's roof. Sadly that probably won't put local bird life (especially gulls) off their aim.

Maybe this on the roof might have an effect ?

Hey pigs. I've got a gun. You won't take me alive copper.

Just an idea :)

It would be insane to use a police helicopter to look for a stolen vehicle. Far better uses for them.
Yeah, i can just imagine how that phone conversation would go....

caller: "yes officer, my motorhome has been stolen, could you jump in your helicopter and go look for it"

.....sound of phone dropping and hysterical laughter

The police won’t have time or funds to look for stolen vehicles, but the Civil Air Patrol might. We all fly light aircraft and could potentially look for vehicles when we are out flying for fun. It would need large, easy to read, stuff on the roof, and some administration to record and communicate incidents and any sightings.
