Caught this little fella yesterday.
Is there anything specific to do after you've had rodent squatters?

One problem with poison is if they die and flies lay eggs - =maggots= more.flies= more maggots.. yadda yadda.
Just trap the little buggers...dead or alive

But please don't use sticky mats..they ARE inhumane.
I came down one morning and it was still struggling, bones sticking out..blood spilt ...poor bugger.
Sticky mats are so cruel, I agree made me feel sick just reading that.

I had no idea about that. I did know that I could not release mice onto a housing estate, but I usually just released them onto my own fields. I did turn them around a few times in the traps so they got dizzy and forgot their way back to my house though, before I get complaints just kidding folks :giggle: (y)
Give them a stern talking to, and a reminder that there's a hint in their name as to where they should be living, their not motorhome mice, cotton picking nuisances. As " Jinxy" used to say, "I hate them meeces to pieces".

Yes get a humane trap instead of killing the poor buggers.
Tried that Tam, don't like killing things, although I do eat meat and fish, even put wasps outside and i get a reaction to their stings.

The ones I catch in my garage get thrown up on the roof and within 10 mins the crows come and take it away for dinner

Humane traps are OK if you inspect them daily. Our van is in storage and normally only visited every couple of weeks. Starving them to death is not very humane.
It's my first job every morning to check the mouse traps even though we haven't had any mice in the house for years (y)

I catch wasps in a glass and put a coaster on top of it and set them free, they get very angry!! (don't tell Mr Gina M I use his favourite pint glass for the job):giggle:(y)

The one thing I have found is the only way to stop them is to find out how they are getting in. I checked everywhere and could find no way in, even going all around the outside of the house checking for holes around windows etc. Then I got it!!! Mr Gina M was letting the dogs out last thing at night and was leaving the door open usually for a hour at a time. Turns out the mice were just running in while he was sitting watching the telly :giggle: soon as he started closing that door at night the mice stopped coming in(y)
We are currently under siege from what we thought was one mouse but having captured it , and released it in the garden from whence it came ...we find we have another Very sadly we KNOW where and how they are gaining access. She doesn't kill them .....

Have a cat, you will have mice. They bring them in [mice] as living plaything , then get bored with tormenting them. The dazed and mauled mice then set up home in your very comfy, climate stable, well resourced hotel. Seen it loads of times, from 2 up 2 downs to multi million £ mansions.

There’s so many cats on my small road that nothing breathes within 500 yards, even small children….😎

There is no way I could kill a mouse. I use humane traps and can honestly say we haven't had mice for years now. Just used to catch them, have a word in their ear about moving on to the nice field two miles away and escort them there free of charge of course. I once took two mice on a nice car journey to a much better place, Carsington Water :giggle: (y)
I saw one of them the other day
