Morning! Might not be the best place to post, but let's try... Got a 2003 Fiat Ducato /Bessacarr E425. We have the old front end privacy curtains, and also use silver screen covers for screen and door windows.

Question: Is it feasible to fit some more modern 'in-situ' windscreen blinds like the ones in newer vans? Just an idea, and whether anyone has done this, or is it a no-no that can't be done?

All ideas welcomed 🙂 Thank you.

Great question, and very interested in the answer as we have exactly the same. Depending on weather conditions, we use either the curtains for the thermal silver screens.

If you have currently have windscreen curtains that’s a good fit you have a good system. You can take curtains down, dry clean/wash, fit better thermal ones etc

Those Remis windscreen blinds are cheap, nasty bits of tissue paper, I have seen loads all mangled up and faulty.

Just my opinion on them.

Yes you can buy the Remis blinds to fit, not as bad as Paul describes them, about £600 a set.
That's a lot of fuel . I have both internal screens bought new. And external bought from funster

I often as the question how much do you spend on an older van. If its doing what you need why bother spend the money on an adventure

But if it will give you more space or better feeling of security go for it.

£600 is a couple of services which will keep.it going. Blinds like eleccy windows don't make it go any further/faster/better

I also prefer to be driving it or parked somewhere nice in it than washing it.

Other enjoy tinkering and pimping up their vans washing and polishing

Do whatever you like it's your van but if you do find some and they fit well please update us as may think about getting them fitted

I did manage to make thermal, blackout replacement curtains for ours (previous, original curtains were a little faded and too flowery for my taste). I bought oversized curtains in a charity shop and cut/sewed to size. It was very fiddly and a long job, but pleased with the result.

When selling parents van I took all the curtains down washed and pressed folded them neatly on the table and let the new owners put them back

My old VW Westy, with all the bells and whistles, has a large curtain, from roof to floor using large pop-studs all around between the cab and the hab area.
This means on winter nights, the hab area is warmer as there is less space to heat and it can be lowered on the studs, from the top to whatever hieght you want!
