possible Norfolk meet end of May

Would be most excellent if you could make it Roger :thumb:

Booking will not even open until the end of February and even then I doubt there will be any real hurry

The only thing to watch for is if I announce it is getting close to full, as the club does have a maximum numbers allowance we have to ( try ! LOL !) and abide by

Hi ya we are also interested, will there be a motorcycle ride at all, or will everyone be over the limit:Rofl1:

Pat

Oh yes,, Saturday there is an organised ride out .. We had 130 bikes one year !

Destination not sorted yet but will probably be a coastal one..

With so many bikes in one group, if you wish to ride at a sedate pace, get right near the front .. if you wish to have a more errr.... spirited ride, go to the back ( front end tends to max at 60mph, the rear lot, thanks to the concertina effect, very often reaches ..ummmmm SLIGHTLY higher speeds !

Hi!
Count us in too! Sounds fun!
It's a local one for us, the money the MH won't drink getting there could be used for our refreshment!

Well I am not much of a bar person ( basically cos I am a tight git and take my own ! ) but apparently the beer is very reasonably priced at the club house :thumb:

Geee wizzzz.

Does Mr Plod get involved and what about the latest nonsense of ALL the riders being jointly responsible for any dim bulb who goes on a suicide mission ?

As an international club with more than several police riders as members, this is never an issue .. and of course we do have club public liability insurance too

The lead rider ( in this case will proly be me ) keeps to about 55 ( which means tail end charlie will almost certainly have to 'make progress' ) and we use a drop off method of out riders to control the whole thing ..

Never had an issue apart from one chap who ran out of petrol one year

Remember, these are people riding one the fastest production bikes built. Believe me, they do not need to prove how quick they can go ( and most are way past such crazy antics anyway ! )

The quick boys stay at the back, the more sedate towards the front,.. the slow tuck in right behind me

I am going to come, hopefully not sold my bike by then.

Are there any toilet / washing facilities ?

There are certainly loos in the clubhouse, separate for men and women as you'd expect in a licenced premises. And there is one set of showers which certainly when we went some years ago, were not at that time private from each other. I spose rugger players aren't that coy really!

No idea if any of these has been upgraded in more recent years. Oh and the clubhouse was open all day - I believe until the bar closed at night.

Thanks for the info Jenny

If we attend we would be camping, hence my question, I presume the hairy bikers will be too .. We have out own toilet facility, but I doubt if Jan and Chaz would be enthusiastic about communal showers ..

The bikers do camp some of em, and as far as we were concerned we did what we do on some campsites where the showers are grotty - and that's make do with a wash - in this case as we were on the bike, in the washbasin in the loo.

If we go camping in the car we have a washing up bowl which works for an all over wash, just as well as my mum's sink did before we ever had a bathroom! If you only go for a couple of days you make do.

Or you go with the 2 of them and keep cave at the door. Simples!

We know there is a good swimming pool in Thetford, so if desparate for a shower you could make a visit there.

Norfolk meet

Bump...

As soon as I get home the tickets will be up for grabs

It works thus.
Upon receipt of payment ( £10 per head, kids free ) you are issued a security number that is tied in to your registration number
When you arrive you give the security number to the gate guy who will allow you on to the site.
No tickets to lose, and if you do happen to lose the number, send an email from the same email account as used to pay and the number can be resent :thumb:

Payment can be made by cheque ( made payable to John Smith and sent to John Smith, 43 Ash Close, Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 3HQ ) or via PayPal to straightfour@aol.com.
A web page will be set up to assist with that and you will not need a paypal account ..
BUT ! Payment via PayPal will cost 4% as that is what they will charge me.

Looking forward to it, thanks

Pat
