Sorting out this morning before leaving. Making up the drop down bed so pulled off the mattresses to fit the sheets.

Happened to look at the belt that allows the bed to lift and drop. On one side the belt has been fitted over the lighting and USB cables that run to the bedside. There is some obvious chafing and wear on the insulation of the cables. Opposite side the belt runs under the cables so no issue.

Perhaps one to watch and/or check?

Get a short length of rubber pipe, slice it top to bottom, split it open enough to put the wires in.

That or buy some kopex I think the brand is flexible conduit for the short section it runs, in white. It'll stop the rubbing and is about 1cm in diameter.

Unlike a rubber pipe, easily obtainable in white from screwfix, but personally I'd ask a electrition or someone doing data cablng if they have some offcuts as you only look to need about 20cm max.

Ok - I'm not concerned about mine as I will reroute the cables under the belt. It was more to make others aware of the potential issue.
