Please stop staring

You should see the entertaining looks, and giggles we have when we are trying to put up the dog pen, especially when we end up with a 6 inch gap. lol.
We don't mind people looking, or staring. They are either future friends, or people you say Good Morning to and not move until they acknowledge us.

genuinely, if the only thing that people have to worry about when they pull up at a camp site is being stared at you must be doing ok.

I have far more things to worry about. Staring is a perfectly acceptable part of motorhoming, I expect to be stared at and I expect to stare at others.

And I most certainly would play a Harry Enfiled "You don't wanna do it like that" clip to ensure anyone I was staring at knew exactly of my motives.

As a young motorhoming family years back with two kids and a giant breed dog I used to see people begging not to have us park next to them. The more they stared the more we pitched next to them.
Not Autotrail Owners are they?

All these FLTs who avoid campsites just don't realise what they are missing out on :) Hours of entertainment :D

I can miss out on the 'entertainment', for the privilege of avoiding the disadvantages(kids, animals, late parties, booking, rules. and the advantage of choosing myself the view we get.

Must admit though, There is a lot of FUN to be had, watching those making all the mistakes we made. Sometimes I go and help. IF I`m not laughing too much. Watched a guy (Tugger) put his awning up, quick time, no problems. Until he realised it was inside out. He had`nt noticed until he needed to fasten some "ties"!. Should have gone to Specsavers?

Where you going on holiday next dunnah01  . I think we should all book in too and give you some support. (y)
I try not to book so I can leave my options open to move on straight away. You never know when you might rock up to find some weird, pervy, beardy bloke and his missus staring at you. Some even do it from inside their vans apparently

Sorry no way would I move just because somebody (pervy.weird. or bearded) was staring at me !!!!

Aaah the curtain twitchers. Netting is very good for peeping out of but I’d rather just sit outside and get a birds eye view.
:ROFLMAO:

What is it with motorhomers staring at other motorhomers. It doesn't matter which country you're in everybody seems to do it. I get that you're wishing the other rig to make a mess if setting up their pitch but why turn your deck chairs to gawp - it's quite rude you know.
Usually it’s the ones that don’t have TVs that do this ... makes a welcome distraction from bird watching

“how high is your horse? Their’s has turned its ass to you. May be the smell has put you off.
have a nice day.”
Best I can do.
PJ, is that close enough. 😃
(I’m just trying to decode. I’m firmly sat in the DMZ)

I notice that most people posting on this thread seem to describe any tent structure aside the MH/caravan as an 'awning'

May I ask those people what description they use for just the wind-out canopy, which provides only shelter from above, attached to the MH/caravan? I have always described that as an awning - the same as on our terrace at home.

I'll start:
If legs are on the ground I'll call it the awning.
If legs are attached to side of van the I'll call it a canopy.
Except on Mondays an Wednesdays, oh and occasional Saturdays..

I have various names for it - mainly dependant on wind direction and intensity.

In our tugging days we were on a site in Italy, a German caravan opposite with a very attractive young lady in it, completely starkers and with all the lights on.
It would have been rude not to watch.
