I saw a thread a day or two ago which had some suggestions for companies who repair plastics.
I’ve tried the search but I can’t find it! Can anyone point me to it or suggest companies I can try please?

I’ve tried Williams Motorhomes but they would need the original panel off the vehicle for 5-6 weeks to make a mould and having the Motorhome off the road for that long would probably result in my sudden demise at the hands of the Mrs!!!

Do you have a photo of the area that needs repairing?

Depending on the level of damage, it's not a difficult diy fix.
I can relate to your thoughts on not wanting it off the road for weeks

If you're not able to diy, I'd suggest a local body shop, motorhome dealers will pull your pants down

Not as daft as it first sounds.

The 'vans are GRP, not plastic. Just the same as modern boats.
Ask at you local sailing club.

Nonsense.
Actually the comment about 5-6 weeks is not nonsense.........cut and pasted from original email. I'll let you apologise in your own time..............

Hi Kevin,

Those photos are great thank you.

As we have not got a mould tool for this part we would need you to send it to us. We would then produce a new mould tool on the part. This process is free of charge however can take 5/6 working weeks.

Once we have the mould tool we can then produce you a new part. Cost for the new part would be £398.00 inc UK postage plus VAT.

Many thanks.

Regards,
Charlie

Trouble is he's a boat repairer and it's silly season for boat repairs this time of the year

If you had all the bits you could possibly weld it back together with a soldering iron as I guess it's not exactly visible without laying on the floor.
Gets even harder trying to do it from a wheelchair! Sadly not got all the bits............of the broken part!

Presumably as it includes postage you would also have to pay to have it removed and refitted and sprayed. I'd get a quote for the other bits then if you go somewhere to get a quote for the whole job you will have some sort of comparison.
The only places I know that do motorhome bodywork repairs are in the Midlands. One is Cannock resprays people generally seem pleased with their work I think if you emailed the photos they would give you an idea of cost.

+1 for Cannock resprays or Crossleys Coachcraft near Preston.

Depending on where you are in London, there's a place on canvey island in Essex that does bodywork repairs. Might get worth contacting them?

Already tried them, they are the ones who advised a 5-6 week turnaround plus they wanted me to remove the panel and send it to them, not so easy as its about 8 feet long and i use a wheelchair.

I wonder if somebody who does plastic bumper repairs could do it
Most likely it's made from abs.. We had a similar problem with the rear bumper on our first motorhome I took it off and rebuilt it reinforced on the back with GRP. I was congratulating myself on the repair until I tried to refit it as it was only the correct shape to fit if still flexible enough to bend on refitting! I'd be wary of sending one off for that reason although presumably if they're professionals they would make a better job than I did in the end I bought a new one.

I was thinking in situ would be easiest and would prevent your experience

I think it's also a good idea to get the person doing the job to do the fitting etc so they are responsible for the whole thing

Thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions, I'm going to book it in with Mike at Go Solent.....gives me a good excuse to visit a couple of friends in the area while his team work on it.
I will post some photos of the finished job.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed with my recommendation to use Go Solent.
