Pilote bus style cab mirrors.

I appreciate that Simon, can you simply push the arms in and out or is there a mechanical adjustment to be made.

Drivers side mirror touching the van side and passenger side out slightly more gives me perfect view
But the trouble is, the arms do not stay where you put them - driving vibrations means the 'pop' back into their pre-set position - and then using them is impossible as, in full adjustment, you can only see yourself in the mirror and none of the side/rear of the vehicle

I just push the whole arm unit they are very stiff need a good shove. No chance of mine moving so perhaps yours need tightening up somehow

As been mentioned several times on this this tread you need to tighten the bolt which is under the top cover.

I have now solved this one.

The solution was to loosen the two (visible and easy-to-access) 5mm hex bolts (see photo where Alan key is inserted) . This allows you to rotate the large cylinder (that has notches in it). Rotate the cylinder to position the arm where you want the arm to be (the cylinder has a notch so it will sit and stay where you place it). Re-tighten the two hex bolts and it then stays where you want it (have put it). You can then 'fine-adjust' the mirrors using in 'in cab' electric adjuster. There was no visible way to remove the top cover (see photo). I did not have to adjust any bolt that is located under the top cover. I put the arms in the final position as per the photo (about 6cm from the main body).

Although the mirror head is similar to mine the arm and mounting to the body is totally different.
