Pigeon Pest Control and the Law - PCRC

Before you publish pictures of culled pigeons, best have a read through the link above. It's illegal, unless you have a licence to cull pigeons, to shoot them or otherwise kill them.
Horrid birds but that is the law.

i don't have a problem as my son is a licenced pest control officer and game keeper and if pigeon's are cussing a health nuisance or crop problems they can be culled there just rat's with wings

Edit at the moment the general licence has been with drawn so you have to apply to cull on a case by case basis
my son has to apply now for every job he has to do on each property.
the worlds gone mad i am sure that the general licence will be reinstated at sum point but for now no culling without a licence you have to prove a need on a case by case basis at the moment

Pigeons (rats with wings) are a problem and need controlling,
Although over the last few weeks have noticed the large amounts of bird shit on everything, we have never had this amount of bird shit, other than when I wash our cars/vans

the general licence meant anyone could shoot them legally on privet land with permition of land owner you now have to apply as a company or individual now to shoot even pest for the time being.
jost got off the phone with my son it's put so much paper work his way hes throwing in the towel and will only controlling legged vermin and furry critters for now on his shoots and pest control jobs
i did like a bit of wood pigeon
i do have a freezer full of it from the winter well a few Brest anyway

Used to "neck" them when caught ...cant remember if its pull /twist or twist/pull ?

Best make sure its a Pidgeon and not an owl if you just try twisting or you might sprain your wrist
