Phantom Sentinel Alarm/Tracker

I think i will go with the Phantom Sentinal as they supply and fit at your home address. I will also go with the lifetime subscription.
I think that will be my preferred option unless Vanbitz lead in periods reduce later in the year

Update - we went ahead and had the Phantom alarm and tracker fitted early Jan. We also had the optional window sensors fitted to all windows. So far I have been impressed and it all appears to be working perfectly. No false alarms to date and I have only managed to set the alarm off once ( my fault). Instant text received from Phantom and they ask you to send them your pin code if it was a false alarm. In addition to showing your location, the app also shows battery level, miles traveled per month and enables you to set/disarm the alarm remotely. It also sends you a notification if the vehicle moves.

Only time my Growler has played up is when I opened the door at about 6-00 in the morning to let the dogs out and forgot to turn the alarm off😂😂

Defiantly woke me up😁,, and all our neighbours in Bruges😂😂😂

that's exactly what I don't want to do, quick way to upset all the nice folks around you . Can you turn the alarm off silently or do you have to have a cheep cheep sound ?

The most common cause of false alarms I have personally experienced have been the bonnet lid sensors, perhaps due to the exposed position. Plenty of operator error too, including removing the tracker fuse thinking it was related to the radio.

There is a cheep cheep sound but It is not too loud. The instruction manual says that this can be disabled but doesn’t actually tell you how to do it.

Have you spoken to them? They managed to fit me in on 3 days notice, I was in Chard at the time and they slotted me in on a Friday.

Yes when delivery was due this month but as my van is now delayed by 6 months will see how the land lies later in the year

That sounds amazing service. Can you use it to completely immobilise the Motorhome using your phone like Sure stop on thecOutsmart the thief lockdown alarm. I am drawn to the Phantom myself as it is a little cheaper than The full van Bitz packages by the time you’ve added it all up and it can be fitted on your drive if the Vanbitz alarm needs something doing to it. It would be another round trip to Taunton which from Nottingham is a fair track. .
Mines an old version so no it’s not.
The alarm went off when I was actually paying the bill and after about 30 seconds and there was a phone call brilliant service so quick

Interesting thread this...does anybody know if there are any installers in Scotland?
If you contact Phantom they will tell you who your local installer is but they do advertise nationwide fitting service.

Is the lifetime subscription transferrable? How long have the company been trading? What happens if they go bust or cease trading, will the equipment still work?

We have the alarm with immobiliser and tracker combo. The only issue we have is that the immobiliser button you press (it should then show red light) sometimes gives us the OK but hasn't engaged so we end up with a text then a follow up phone call.
The call centre personnel are very nice though.

I had the first tracker fitted by Phantom in 2004 and they are still trading. Always provided very good levels of customer service. Had an upgraded tracker fitted last year by a nominated by Phantom independant fitter.
I had an email from them this week stating that they have been taken over recently, so hopefully the excellent service that they provide will continue.

No I don’t believe that the subscription is transferable, don’t have a clue what happens if they cease trading but they have been around a long time already so must be doing something right,

We have our first van due to be delivered in a few weeks time. It comes with the default factory immobiliser but we are looking to get an alarm and tracker fitted.

The van dealer have offered to fit a cobra alarm and tracker at around £1250, we are looking at other options to compare . I've been on the Phantom site and see they have a number of options and prices seem to change depending on vehicle type.

What Phantom system did people go for?

We went for the Phantom Sentinel S7 but also had the optional window sensors added which increased the cost by approx. £100.
We only took out a one year subscription for the tracker which cost us £149.

Yep, with Sentinel Ultimate which includes automatic driver recognition (ADR) and immobilisation. No ADR fob card (or if fob card is 'asleep' or fully switched off), no start. Dead as a dodo. They also call you very quick to advise of an ignition attempt (**cough, ahem!**). Just re-enable the fob card and bingo, the van starts. Neat.

Phantom Sentinel fitted to campervan. Not recognised in online insurance quotes. What do others do?

Comfort insurers (AVIVA) certainly recognise it, not sure about online quotes though, I’ve never used them for the van

Yep, Comfort recognised the phantom & CAT 5 tracker on ours too. £330 including Euro breakdown.

Comfort were very picky about storage!! A locked building in a locked compound wasn't good enough 😕

They asked me where the MH was kept. I explained in a locked compound on a converted farm to a mini industrial gathering of sheds.
That's fine, no problem and promptly insured.
