Peugeot clipboard!!

2018 Citroen Relay with passenger air bag has the lift up clip-board, too.

Just wish I could find a use for it!

It seems to be the "go to" accessory to hold the Ipad tablet in place whilst using the satnav apps, Also good place to put the said Ipad whilst hooked up to the stereo/infotainment system to play some tunes, as was demonstrated to me at the weekend:xThumb:

I have to agree with that (y)

I upgraded my pop up clipboard to the one with the tablet-jaws for that very reason. I've got an old TomTom Western Europe app (before they killed it off!) which is great on the larger screen.

This setup allows me to play music on the iPad through the vans head unit / speakers, and the when TomTom speaks it mutes the music, says what it has to say then starts the music again (y) You can also control the music on the iPad from the buttons on the head unit which is handy too.

Handy for BBC iPlayer, Plex, etc too as the audio comes through all the van speakers in the lounge area too.

Er, not while driving - obviously

Out of interest, do you know what size tablet fits in the jaws?

@Misterg - all this time to make a post :) Welcome to the forum.

You've got Plex working in your van? Cool, i'd like something similar. I have (limited!) knowledge of Synology, Raspberry and Linux, but don't know what would work best.

@Misterg welcome!

So the X290 Boxer and Ducato have 2 different lift-up devices, one a clipboard and the other a tablet holder (which mine has).

Learnt something new.

We've got a 2013 Ducato that came with the fixed version of the clipboard.
During discussions with our local Fiat Professional place they advised a pull-up spring loaded version could be fitted with some very minor modifications. Their price was, from memory, around £50 + vat (part only).
So, went to a local scrappie and got one for £5.00. If you do the same make sure you also get the spring clip screw holders as the pull-up version fitting is different from the fixed version (well it was on the one I got!).
The fixed version has two pins on the front edge that fit into the two slots shown on the attached photo whereas the pull-up version screws down at both ends.

The spring clips fit into the into the two square holes (closer to you than the screws shown in the photo) and over the two round holes in front of those. The holes are designed to let the screws you use pass through.
You open the clipboard and two screws go through the base into the spring clips you've just fitted and the edge closest to you use the same spring clips and screws used by the fixed version.
Your 2016 Peugot may be slightly different though.

I just bought a second hand unit and fitted in my Bessacarr e560, I’ve also purchased really does provide a great way of having everything close and within easy reach

I have been trying to get mine up ever since we purchased our Rapido 7066F 2007 Reg. There is a little plastic dome in the top of the clip board.Came to the conclusions is part of the tracker system, but have no information about it.

We use a 10" tablet landscape way (as per Roger's photo above) and run our Sygic sat nav on it, much easier than trying to look at a little screen!

Thanks, was hoping a 10" fitted (need new tablet before I'll have new van and want to use as satnav etc)

We have a Fiat x250, and I was told that the clipboard doesn't lift up if you have the comfortmatic gearbox fitted. Not sure why that would be though, but the hand book states on page 90, that if a passenger airbag is fitted then the clipboard is fixed.

Our 2015 Ductao had the tablet holder/ clipboard thingy and our 2018 Ducato has it too. Will put up some pics tomorrow if that will help.

There seems to be no pattern to this at all?!

Too dark to take good pics, will do it tomorrow. Forgot to mention that we have a passenger air bag.

This is my “tab” holder on a 2018 Ducato with passenger airbag.
