Can anyone tell me what the lowest pressure I can lower my front tyres to before the TPMS complains about low pressure? I’ve only just realised that the front tyres are not CP and the tyre wall indicates a max pressure of 65. They are currently at 80psi same as CPs on the rear which is clearly over inflated. For the axle weight 65psi on the fronts would be ok but I could do without the TPMS complaing at me. The tyres are 215/70/15 109 on a 2016 Boxer based Elddis Majestic 125.

Interesting Lenny as I went on the pressure calculator (link to the page was on here) and it said for 215/70/15 109 that 80psi was recommended for a 1900kg rear axle. Must admit, I did question it in my mind though. Maybe I need to revisit that.
80 if far to high on the rear even for CP tyres unless you are running at 2500kg on the axle.
This is my plate…

Solution
For some reason my plate image won’t upload Lenny HB and I can’t delete my attempts to upload either. Anyway, front axle is 1750kg and rear is 1900kg.

Those will be the max I set my tyre pressures for the axle load.
My max on the front is 2300 but I run at 1930 and the rear is 2500 & I run at 2300.

With CP tyres Michelin always quote the max 80 psi for the rear other tyre manufacturers are more sensible.

Tyresafe web page show this but as you say that is assuming a fully loaded rear axle which I don’t think we are anywhere near as we travel light mostly. Once I get the TPMS reset to a lower value I will drop the fronts to 63psi and I will go to a weighbridge and check the axle weight with our normally loaded configuration then I can set the rears accordingly.

It seems to see all the ECUs on my Citroen except engine and gearbox.

Alfaobd also comes recommended, but I haven't used it.
Thanks and useful info, a question though, I have a 2015 boxer currently with an issue with 'parking help unavailable' message + warning light. Will Multiecuscan diagnose parking sensor ECU + sensor faults? Its been a bit of a circus finding a tool that can do that and Multiecuscan comes at a reasonable cost. I am ok with No engine gearbox info, I will tackle that another way. Any info appreciated, Cheers

I don't know, I'm afraid.

I've only used it to alter the TPMS trigger pressures so far.

This is a list of people prepared to help with MES.
It was proposed that FUN could host something simular.
I am on the above list and prepared to help with MES or Alfaobd but i am based in Northampton you have no location showing.

I read (somewhere…) that the system will tolerate a 25% lower value than that on the door but that you need to do at least 40 (400?) miles before it stops warning you. I got recommended pressures from Continental and juggled the figures to a compromise between those and 25% lower than stipulated. After very roughly (didn’t really notice when) 100 miles, the warnings stopped. Sorry for the vagueness!

Yes, used MES and will sort the fiat/Peugeot/citroen vans as they all use the same chassis. You need the software and the connection cables and adapter. It will tell you which sensor has failed. You clear the fault code using MES, then change the sensor. Buy the sensor from Coastal Motorhomes, they sell the right ones with original part number for reference. You see the part number on the one you took off. Clean the contacts on the plug with electrical cleaner not WD40. If you buy MES it will do all the body/chassis systems and complete proxi alignments on things like air bag ecu which have a habit of failing. I bought the package and carry it in my van now. It’s easy to use.

But…… a warning, MES will not clear codes on later made vans, I think 2019 or so and later. They have a security gateway built in. Mine is 2015
