Petition to allow motorhomes in East Suffolk Council car parks

Possibly do have a clue olley, we moor in Pin Mill or Woodbridge spend much of the summer sailing or camping the length of the coastline which have been doing since before Sizewell A, was built possibly know the county better than many of those who now live there.
So how many east suffolk council carparks have you parked your boat in? :roflmto:
If sailing up the coasts makes you an authority on what happens on land then because I walk past marinas I must be an authority on what happens at sea. ::bigsmile:

I sometimes wonder if some of the posters on here realize it is actually a motorhome forum?

It appears that the council permit motorhomes <5.5M to park in one of 4 carparks (not town centres) ... how many folk have a MH <5.5M

I've parked in the Cliff Road car park many times, had no idea it was identified as you say a council car park. Great position though. Breakfast at Felixstowe Ferry then park up in cliff road watching the insure shipping before moving on to Orford. Great way to start your day of touring the suffolk coast. I think I should get down to writing a book on places to visit by sea or road between Felixstowe and Southwold. ;) :giggle:

When we lived in Hertfordshire it was an easy run up to the Suffolk coast for a few gettaway days - Southwold harbour being a favourite, preferably out of season and away from the town. We would have one or two nights right on the water's edge, within 100 yards of the excellent Harbour Inn - just within staggering distance after a good dinner there preceeded by a few samples of the Sole Bay Brewery's best.
Went back last September, end of the month, only to find new looking No Parking signs put up everywhere by the coucil, the only option being the rather scabby campsite near the mouth of the river Blyth, which was packed.
We shan't be going back. Pity. Cb.

Lazy sod, you park in cliff carpark and walk to the ferry have a brekky and walk back but then maybe your old legs aren't up to it. :roflmto:
The Victoria used to do some nice food, that was the other ferry pub but its been closed several years.
Ever camped on the nature reserve opposite Orford? We spent an afternoon there last year with family and friends, wardens turned and said your fine where you are but please don't camp in the middle, very rare plants apparently.

Not camped on the nature reserve but have either walked  or cycled most of the roads and footpaths in the area.
Anyway I think we have said enough :winky: the last thing we want is to give any ideas to that lot from north of the wash lowering the tone.:giggle:
