Petition: Negotiate more favorable post-transition travel rules for U.K. citizens

Agree Jim, but unfortunately not everyone has come to terms with being restricted...I don't think some long term visitors to Europe realise that they would have had more freedom if they took up residence...for example....they have freedom within their adopted country, no 90/180, they would have been allowed entry into another Schengen country for up to 90/180 day and up to 6 months visiting the UK for those who are in their first 5 years of residencia..after then more flexibility..
I know it cannot be achieved by everyone, but many who are retired could have done it if they thought they couldn't manage restrictions...bit late now....but your final line get used to the 90/180 or emigrate...applies.
Exactly what I did....now got Biometric card for unlimited time in Greece...plus 90/80 in rest of Schengen....should be easy....plus of course if EU don’t want our tourist pounds...(and before someone says that’s a drop in the ocean...tell that to Greek hospitality owners...I’m in Greece now and they are all getting very excited about 15th May when Brits can visit) then there are plenty of other countries in the world that do. Besides EU is a busted flush...won’t be around in 5 years...people will realise it’s main beneficiaries are Germany and France...plus they will see how UK does without the EU shackles and agitate for Leave...

Without getting political this ship has sailed.

We are out of the EU, its that simple, to some its good to others its sad.

But its done we have to move on.

I couldn’t agree more; hence the futility of the petition. 👍

“I think, and similarly with the 90-day rule for visitors, that what we have now is what we are going to have for some time to come.”

Referring specifically to the visiting rule, which applies to all non-EU nationalities, he added: “Much as I would like to be able to say I think the limit could be extended or renegotiated, I really don’t see much feasibility.

“Having done the deal, I don’t see either side wanting to put effort into changing that now. For the foreseeable future, British people will have to arrange their lives around that.”
