Peterborough Motorhome Show 2014

Thankyou Jim Sian and Marshall's for your hard work and brilliant organising :thumb:
What a brill place to try out our caravan for the first time, anything we found we needed was on our doorstep, biggest sweetie shop ever:Cool:
Mike felt we were out of place being in a caravan parked with motorhome fun but I've been a member since 2009 and although I find it hard to socialise I've always found other members to be very friendly and welcoming which helps enormously! So hey, we have a motor home without an engine haha :Rofl1:
Thankyou to the lovely couples parked nearby (one invited us to plug into their generator because they saw we were running the car engine to charge the batteries):thumb: and we had a lovely tour of the rv parked in front of us
Will try and make Gail's birthday bash :thumb:

May I add a huge LIST of thanks to so many people .. the marshalls especially Carol and Eddie, Jock and Rita, Catherine - it's delicious, Maz and Nix - hospitality and walks, Dawn and Mike - laughter and teddy, Janet and Rex - shared support, Sheila - cos I luv ya sis, Roger - cos he is cuddly, Richard W for ENDLESS support even from a distance up in the sky, Steve - for his kind birthday words, Ray - good company, Carol - the delicious healthy meal, Susan and Norman - the book, Barbara - cute puppy moments, UK Bill .... I am sorry to many to continue naming but a very special thanks to all the ladies who got me through a bad patch for their friendship, reassurance and renewed strength. Long live fun.

We are down in Cheltenham on our way south have found a brilliant campsite at Briarfields Touring Park GL51 0SX
Agreed. Had an overnight there last November on the way to somewhere else, but decided a return visit would be well worth while.

Handy spot if you need to break an M5 journey, but both the site & the area worth a visit in their own right.

My waste was closed :BigGrin:and I haven't bought a genny away with me for ages. you saw Champers Genny chained to my trailer, he fired it up for Toledo's Karaoke machine on Friday night.

Stopped at a service station just now and the lorry park seemed full of Funsters  it's a mini meet. Still 4 hours to run to get home:Eek!:

Jeeez mate.. To misquote willy, The gentleman doth protest too much, methinks !!! :Rofl1: :Rofl1: :Rofl1:

Just like to add our (Terry and Brenda) thanks to everybody involved in organising this great event - we mean of course the Funsters, although the show wasn't too bad either (spent too much money again).

It was our first Funster "meet" and it's convinced us to book for Stratford and Malvern so we're looking forward to seeing everyone again, especially the great crowd we went to Morocco with.

Seemed quite a few people joined MotorhomeFun at the show too - welcome to you all.

Judging by all the earlier comments we need a new supply of Funster badges saying "I survived meeting ShiftZZ for the first time" :Rofl1::Rofl1:

Now I know where I had seen ShiftZZ before........ Just watching the original BlackAdder series and there was a scene with the Bishop of Bath and Wells. Didn't realise he was a famous TV star, I would have asked for an autograph:Rofl1:

Thanks to Jim and Sian for a great weekend. The marshalls were spot on and a big thanks to everyone involved with the bacon buns on Sunday. :thumb: :thumb:

ShiftZZ? Bath? Well I never :Eeek::Eeek:

Another great weekend, thanks to Jim, Sian, and the brilliant and tolerant marshals. Thanks also to all other funsters who created that unique atmosphere for us all to enjoy. :thumb:

Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed the events in the Funsters tent and a big thank you all for the super food that the Funsters brought to the table. :thumb:

That likeable rogue Wayward Traveller, is always up for a laugh.

Our visit to Maz’s van with Joy to play “Rummycub” was scary  but, in the event, a great experience  and the meal that Maz cooked for us a couple of days before was delicious and really enjoyable. Indeed, a true delight! :thumb:

On the downside, the bu*gers in the Marquee were living it up into the early, no late, hours, :shout: we just couldn’t hack it.:Rofl1:

Worse than that, we don’t think our neighbours, PetenSal, even went to bed. How the hell do they do it? :Eeek::Eeek:

Looking forward to the NEXT ONE!!! :thumb:

This was our first meet and we didn't really know what to expect and we had a great time, thanks to Jim and Sian and everybody else who made us welcome and to the marshalls who did a great job getting us sorted. It was nice to make some new friends and a big thank you to Mick who shared his scotch with John . Looking forward to meeting some familiar faces at Misterton and also some new ones. Once again thank you all very much.:thumb:

Forgot to say how delicious the bacon rolls were , just what we needed thanks to the hard working chefs

Many Thanks to all

Have just arrived at our son's in Scotland after a good run up visiting friends on the way and some great wild camping spots to overnight in. Thanks to Jim and Sian and all the helpers too many to either remember their names or mention, for a great weekend. The bacon butties on Sunday were fantastic, must be close to the best we have tasted.
The entertainment and general natter in the tent was great and transformed the show. Really nice to meet so many more Funsters. We look forward to meeting many again in Morocco next year.
A good show for us but we think the traders are getting fewer with less choice. Probably the cost of space.

Living in the South of France we will not be able to get to the meets but will keep in touch on the forum.

A quick thank you to everyone involved at the show rally. We had a great time (as usual) on the back of all your hard work. The marquee was a real winner too - setting a trend for future shows? FUNpower rules OK!

Looking forward to the next one :thumb::thumb:
