Just looked on GoogleEarth and can't see anything remotely resembling an aire.

I can understand a 'Newbie' who asks for a method of finding stops and then gets directed to various sources to do their own research.

And what better research is there than asking peers on here!!

I would have thought in doing one’s research might involve asking others, if you don’t want to help just move on. It’s comments like this that may put people of the whole idea of a forum.

There are often people asking for places to stop.

I am not thinking so much about asking for a place near a specific point/venue or even repair shop.

I am thinking more about the request of 'A stop from Torquay-Leeds.'

Are these people going to come on a forum every time they venture out?

But I do not understand how those that ask for one stop will get on over their next MHoming years if they cannot do their own research.

Am I missing something?

Perhaps ! These are the more intelligent Funsters who have the answers to their questions in front of them in their operating manuals or the search function on their browser but would rather have a someone else do the leg work.! Or..........perhaps Funsters who just want confirmation of the answer they have already arrived at from anouther Funster to confirm their decision was right in the first place ! Or............. perhaps a Funster who genuinely does not know how to find the answer to a question via the internet but knows how to ask a question. Or............perhaps, a funster winding up other Funsters by asking questions they know will annoy the bejesus out of Funsters ? Your guess is as good as mine.

Good job thoughts aren't automatically expressed on a forum, cos I know the thought that inevitably springs to my mind when someone asks where they can go ....... even if they do narrow it down and say eg 'between Land's End and John o' Groats'

I might do my own research but if I was heading “up North” I’d almost certainly ask for a bit of advice on the forum. There’s an awful lot of places up there and an awful lot of knowledge on here so I’d be foolish not to.
