Sorry, I have read this whole thread three times and are somewhat confused.

Sorry to be stupid but is it illegal to sleep in the camping car overnight off site? I would appreciate some clarification.

We tried a site on one night only when we first bought our camper in 2018 and absolutely detested it. I would sell the camping car rather than have to stay on another.

This was Jim’s clear answer in the first page of the thread ... it’s my understanding as well. Like others really don’t like sites and am just sensitive and respectful where, when and especially how long I stay parked in a single place. In 18 months have never been asked to move on.

We once were parking up, in a pub stop car park in Derbyshire. It wasn't an easy park and a guy game over, we thought he was going to offer some help but no! He was very rude and told us we should be on a caravan site, like him in his caravan. He went on to tell us that sleeping overnight in the motorhome anywhere but a caravan site, was illegal.

Where do these ideas come from?
