I have to pay a large amount for our new MH which we will pick up on the 4th Oct. The dealership is around 20 mins from where we live. I paid them £1 yesterday to confirm that all the details I had were correct.

I made a transfer for just over half of it this morning and the bank fraud team called me. After a 40 minute conversation they said that I would be better off paying on the day with my debit card. I was surprised but they confirmed I can do that. If I use my debit card then I have more protection regarding the van whereas the bank transfer offers me no protection.

I called the dealer who said they would have to pay a large amount in card transaction fees. I can see the banks position and also the dealers.

What do others do in this situation?

My wife has suggested I take my laptop to the dealers and after the handover make the transfer although it could take a while as the fraud team will have to get involved again

thank you

Cast your eyes over TPMS reading to make sure tyres look OK
Yes thank you. TPMS ordered from TyrePal (Prima Leisure).

Make sure the windows, especially the roof lights, are closed.
Agreed, will order the window catches from Lock M Out

As I mentioned earlier the forums have fast tracked my knowledge from Crystal Clean & Protect to fresh water filler funnel (PaulandChrissy ), and everything in-between.

The advice on the extended warranty from Fiat, which the dealer did not mention, was a real gem of information.

We will still make mistakes, and already have, but hopefully fewer than we would have done without the great advice on here.

£20 for a years sub was dwarfed by the saving on my Offgrid 10% discount

Thank you

One check no one never but never mentions when leaving pitch..
Stop get out and check pitch for any debris that may have appeared.
Amazes me the number who just drive away without even a backward glance...

Just an addition to this in case anyone searches this thread in future......

We informed the bank (hsbc) that we were making a large payment on 'a certain day' at 'a certain time' which went through without any difficulty, but they then blocked the card for the rest of the day as it 'exceeded the daily limit for the card' - but they didn't tell me that they were going to do that, so when I went to put fuel in our new car, I couldn't pay for it.
Took me nearly an hour sat on the garage forecourt discussing it with the bank in order to make the payment.
