Passing away of our dog

We send our condolences to you all at this sad time. Gone but not forgotten.

RIP Sena.
So difficult when a beloved pet passes, they are one of the family and some people who dont have pets, particularly dogs, just dont get it and how much you grieve.

Such a sad loss, I really feel for your family.
I am always humbled by the love and trust that comes from an animal that has had a tough start to life (we have a rescue dog)
After the grieving, enjoy the happy memories, it’s what Sena would want

RIP Sena.

Sena is beyond pain now and lives on in your hearts. Talk about Sena often and when the tears subside the memories will bring joy to your lives still. Xxx

So sorry for your loss. Before we got our first dog Sorrel, almost 11 years ago now, I couldn't fully understand what a blow the loss of a pet could be. So many of my dog-walking pals have lost dogs to accidents, illness etc and it’s devastating.
I dread the day when I will have to say goodbye to my girl but if when that time comes she goes as peacefully as Sena I will be grateful.
Hugs to you all.

Really sorry for your loss. Dogs give us so much love and ask for so little in return and it's so upsetting when they pass.

So sorry to hear it but I prefer that scenario where he has died happy in his sleep.
We had 2 old boys die in my arms after a walk and I was glad they went that way, our current little man is giving us regular tearful interludes as we see him slipping slowly away with lung cancer and trying to decide when the time is right. :crying:

What a lovely boy. I can only hope my beloved Beech goes in this lovely peaceful way x

I’m so sorry and sad for you all, Sena looked a very handsome boy. Big cuddles to your son, I can remember vividly the loss of my first pet as a child. I hope in time when the pain eases you will remember all the great times and love Sena gave you.

Sorry to hear about Sena, He spared you the agonising decision most of us have to make at some point. Hang onto your memories and so good of you to take a rescue dog.

Run free Sena!

Sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss of a real family member and try and remember all the good times and love that he brought to you all .

Very sad but I was somehow heartened that Sena passed at home. Take some comfort in the fact you gave him 8 wonderful years. Beautiful photos

I feel your loss  our Pugsey, Blu & Skye & Bear are waiting in doggy heaven for your Sena RIP wonderful dog x

My heart and soul goes out to you and your family, I’ve been through this numerous times and every time it hurts to my bones.

My current dog a Springer Spaniel “Jacko” means the world to me and my wife and when he goes god help us, we will be soul destroyed that’s for sure.

The hurt and feeling of loosing one’s best friend kills and hurts for days, weeks even and it took me over 12 months to start just seeing the home empty without our family friend.

May Sena RIP running around without a care in the world amongst the clouds.

I started this thread with the words "
Hi,
Not sure why but would just like to share the passing away of our dog."

I thank you all for your replies, I have tears in my eyes as I type this and appreciate all your comments and shared experiences, It has been a difficult time for me and the family and your support has been very welcome. Now I know why I shared, again thank you so much.

I wish you strength in your days of sadness, sounds like you were very lucky to have Sena loosing a loved one is never easy x

I think in a way you and Sena were very lucky. Five times now we've had to struggle to decide if we were keeping our loved ones with us for their sake or for ours. Always a terribly difficult decision which never gets any easier. We try to consider their quality of life, but I'm sure we've sometimes got it wrong for selfish reasons.

So sad and it doesn't help at the moment but what a peaceful way for Sena to go in a place she felt safe with no stress.
RIP Sena.
