part timing

One other thing you need to be aware of with statics is the costs when you come to sell them in the future, from what I can recall it is not unknown for the site to want up to 15% of the sale price from you/the buyer. Some also have restrictions on what you can do there, whether you can park your vehicles next to the static, or have to put it on a 'general' car park somewhere else, lots of other "can't do that" rules etc, so make sure you are well versed in all the ins and outs of this if you plan to go ahead. And as for gas - some sites insist on you buying it only from them which can actually work out quite expensive, as can the electricity.

As for what type of static to get, I would definitely go for a fully winterised one, not just so you are more comfortable if you stay there in winter, but also because the static itself will not deteriorate anything like as quickly as a 'summer use' one, thus needing less maintenance and generally of a better build quality.

As for phone and broadband - don't rule out a mobile phone and mobile broadband, it is much better than it was - we've got a 'bricks and mortar' home and have been without a land line (phone and broadband) now for nearly 4 years as we are restricted where we live to just one land-based supplier (Kingston Communications) and they were getting rediculously expensive. We got 2 mobile phones with included calls and mobile broadband for less than it was costing us for land-based phone and broadband where we had to pay for calls on top of it. It also means that you always have your phone number and broadband facility with you wherever you go:thumb:.

Just a thought..

I wonder if it would be worth while getting a static with one or two other full timers ?

A shared yearly rent has gotta be cheaper

I keep and will keep my house although spending more than half the year away.........
