I felt sorry for these two MHs parked in a car park in Saundersfoot today who were issued with parking tickets.

Pembrokeshire County Council needs to wake up and sort out more MH parking bays.

I wonder if they ticket cars that park up in the larger bays up in the corner. Cant remember if they are marked motorhome, but mostly cars when i'm there.

Why feel sorry for them unless they were parked properly / within time limits etc etc? Do we know?

As a coach driver I wouldn't share your sympathy, difficult enough to find anywhere to park a coach in the first place without the only spaces in town taken up by those who don't read or don't care. Finding space for 12/13m is a lot more difficult than 7/8m.

Park inconsiderate and expect a ticket as for cars taking up motorhom space contact the local authorities and eventually thay will send someone round
The reson motorhom camper cans are being targeted is the tossers who don’t give a bit of concern for any one but there shelf’s
Park wrong and get a ticket.

A better question would be to add " and would feel hard done by if given a ticket". I have parked in coach bays usually when there's nowhere else and lots of empty coach bays and we're only stopping a few minutes. Also quite often when there another motorhome already in it and we share the bay. If I get a ticket it's fair enough I'm risking it being there.

Some coach bays are signed as being ok for campers.
There is widespread abuse of parking restrictions in this country. Motorway truck and caravan stops for one!
No, I would not do it.
It gets me going!
And if I can’t stop, I can’t stop!

What do I need anyway?
There is always a lay by somewhere.

That's the point, if someone parks somewhere where it says you can't why are they surprised when they get a fine.

Motor homing is a privilege I enjoy it not a right but a privilege.
You don’t have the right to park where you like
You on very few occasions are given the privilege.
By the authority’s to park it not a right and thay have the right to withdraw if at anytime

Like Cyberyacht, I wonder if it could be challenged.
Not ethical at least, in these woke days, I’m not sure it’s on not to have it in English as well.

Like the white pick up overhanging the bay at the back or the mercedes vito which would not fit in a bay either.
Finding space for 12/13m is a lot more difficult
You wouldn't get 12 or 13m in either of those bays.
With my little camper van I am sure I could box that car in 👹
I have done that myself before in Devon in a coach built & the person had parked in the large vehicles bays
Could be argued that it's not in English and could not be enforced in a court of law.
It is a struggle but it is in english up the far end.

It’s always a problem and if everyone was just a bit more thoughtful it would save a lot of hassle.

Whilst visiting a large NT property whilst away at Cambridge recently we discovered it actually had ‘Motorhome Bays’ probably because it also had height restrictions to the majority of the parking. When I arrived they were all full but one was a VW camper van who could easily fit under the height barrier. Why didn’t they park elsewhere and leave the bigger bays for those who needed them. I was miffed with my fellow camper to be honest and struggled to find a car space with enough overhang space to fit in with the limited un barriered parking.

I met the VW driver later in the day over lunch, a solo traveller who wasn’t even camping at the time. Pleasant chap, I didn’t have the nerve to ask him why he parked without thought for others. Some people are just more thoughtful than others I find, but in the minority these days too ☹️

He might well have fallen foul of the Bear Street Car park in Barnstaple Devon where VW T 4,5,6 etc, get ticketed by one attendant if parked anywhere but in one of the three motorhome bays. This in a car park that is empty up by the road, allows no buying of two tickets, nor any 'overhanging', nor parking with attached trailer.

But you aren’t going to get ticketed in a National Trust no payment car park, I would doubt. Tons of parking, just restricted which I’ve never seen before.
