Panel Gaps on new Ducato

It isn't normal. They may wish you to think it but it isn't acceptable. The gaps are bad enough if that was the only problem but the fact that the swage lines do not line up means A) I wouldn't accept it & even second hand I'd walk away.

& it isn't acceptable even as a van. They are meant to line up. They don't .
It isn't even acceptable if you were being given it for nothing.
I must have looked at 50 Ducato in the last couple of days. Every single one of them is exactly the same. I’d say that is pretty consistant, if it’s not normal.

To be honest I suspect for a panel van it may be acceptable. After all when they sell second hand they are usually battered around a fair bit. Such a think would not matter.

But if I was buying your van off you in five years time with it's probably immaculate paintwork and low mileage I would think it had had a crash and a less than satisfactory repair.

If you are still unsure Gu—Lopez simply type 2020 Ducato into google images. I think you might be surprised.

All relative.
I worked at Vauxhall Motors when the first robots were used on HB Vivas at the Ellesmere Port plant. The first 200 left the factory one inch longer on one side than the other. God knows what happened in subsequent years when they needed accident repair work.

It isn't normal to have these door gaps/misaligned doors. Mines 2018 and it doesn't have them. You have to get it resolved one way or another

Agreed mine does not either they fit as one would expect, not perfect but no big gaps or miss alignment

The way I see it this is yet another post that shows how different people see different things.
Something that obviously really bothers one person and they would go to the end of the earth to have it rectified is not even noticed by another..
Tis human nature and think how boring life would be if we were all clones of each other😴😴😴

It’s not so much how people see things but is the door fitted within tolerance (not the owners tolerance) our T5 was converted by VWT the drivers door looked ok but after about 12 months rust was appearing on the bottom of the door, basically it had not been adjusted properly, the. We found the fog light did not work....it never had it had not been picked up by the be pdi process and neither did vwt on their so called ‘checks’. All of which confirmed a host of other niggles like low oil....which had not been changed or checked. So the OP of this thread is not being picky he needs to get the alignment checked and it’s not how ‘people see things’ it’s if you think something’s isn’t right get it checked !

My 2019 Ducato has what seems to be a fairly large gap between the doors and the wheel arch, just above the wheel, but doesn’t appear to have any misalignment, everything lines up.

In my youth I spent 6 months in the Matra Simca factory just outside Paris. When the cars came off the line it was amazing what the guys could do with a stick of wood to make the doors line up. Obviously, the Fiat guys have lost their sticks!

Another thing to look for when we pick ours up in September.(y)

When we picked up ours the Wife spotted that when inside and looking around where we thought the cab joined the body at floor level you could see day light , I found it a job to align myself to see it , but it was and got the Dealer to bodge it , I meant seal it
