Something to think about?. IF as all the doom-sayers predict, there are hordes of parked up Trucks in the south east corner of this green and pleasant land, waiting for "clearance" come January?. Going from one of the "Northern" ports could become a preferred option?.

DFDS Route from Newcastle is under threat

Bloody hell I hope not, there will be no where left for us at this rate to get abroad.

TBF. Most ferry routes are under extra scrutiny at this time. The China Virus, has just made them look more urgently at the cost base. Without the current issues, most are loss making during the "close" Season. Many even normally put their ferries in for routine (dry) docking and maintenance this time of year. The whole thing has turned on it`s head in a very short space of time. It`s not that many years ago, that I was approached by an old colleague, to see if I was at all interested in doing "Summer Relief", they where that short of qualified Engineer Officers.
