Hi
Has anyone travelled on this route recently and taken their dogs with them?
Our dogs have Portuguese Pet Passports with our UK home address on and I would like to know if there have been any problems getting dogs out of and back into the UK with similar passports?
Looking to book a dog friendly cabin for mid-March but we need to know if UK or Dutch customs are not permitting entry via this type of passport. Otherwise it's the dreaded AHC again........:(
Ta.
Garry.

No. Mine had her 3 year rabies vaccination at the same time as the passport was issued, in Spain. Rabies vaccs must now always be done and recorded abroad, ie into the pet passport. Rabies vaccine entries into the English record are invalid for travel abroad ( and details cannot be transferred from aUK document to the EU passport. But for other routine vaccinations( ie yearly boosters) they should be done in the UK record. The EU countries are not interested in them at all.

A question for those that have already taken / brought back dogs that have a European Pet Passport with a UK address - did your dogs have their booster injections at the same time as their rabies jab whilst abroad? Someone (on another forum) said that if that was the case, the rabies jab is invalid?
I don't know why having annual vacs and a rabies jab done abroad would invalidate the rabies jab as they are completely different so I think that is b*llocks, however it's not something I'd do as the dog's system IMV could be too 'stressed' by having them done at the same time and make them unwell.

We were lucky our dog was due his vaccination about a month later so took the opportunity to have it done and get the passport.

Can I ask where in Spain you had the rabies jab that is valid for 3 years please. In the south (Cadiz area) the jabs are only valid for 1 year?

We had Bella's rabies jab done at Almenara if it's of any use, info in this thread:

There's also Petsworld at La Zenia who will do a rabies jab (they now charge an admin fee if you want the passport as well but as you've got that it should be just a straight charge for the jab) which they said was €18 last time.

I really fancied this route and got a good price for a May departure, however when i put my motorhome size in it stated the limit was 2.4 metres high.

You need to change the vehicle type to motorhome in the "travelling by" bit.

But isn't the 2.4 metre limit still evident in your example?
That was just an example, if you click on standard MH it is for those greater than 2.4 m
