I agree JJ...much to ponder on, but having visited Oradour twice am still at a loss that no person has been tried for the atrocity.
The perpetrators of that great atrocity all walked free....SHOCKING.:Angry:
a similar atrocity, though on a smaller scale, was carried out on the village of Lidice in the Czech Republic. The german perpetrators were not brought to account either.
JJ - after being there and now considering your visit, did you have any thoughts about what Pete said to you about it? - well and me actually.
For instance, I can walk into the remains of Coventry cathedral, which there is even less of than the church at OsG - and yet - I know every time that I am still inside a church. I didn't get that feeling in the church at OsG. It is .... bereft????? - despite the number of souls that perished at that very spot.
The souls of all the people have left the entire site. It is utterly ... abandoned.
