N00b!
Hi friends 2 weeks ago I thought my plan was to get a 584, but since I've seen 544 and even a 564 - edit - even a 574!!!

I am honestly lost now and not sure if I can tell the dff between them al, they are all looking alike - with same features..

Can someone with some experience help a n00b out?

Thx

Budget will be 10-15k - don't really care about age as long it's got enough space, as I'm 6'4'' - [ie will above cab seeping area be wide enough]

Thx all

We have had x2 Merc Hymers, first 2005 316cdi manual, second 2004 616cdi full auto, both never put a foot wrong although in my opinion the 616 was underpowered(But uprated to 6400kg and used it all)

You had two of the most reliable chassis combinations, that’s why.

Not sure.

We have a B644. But then, B644's vary .

Its a Rear, low bed over a large boot (rather than high bed with garage under bed) - 2 Berths
Mid Pullman Style Dinette - Becomes 2 Berths - Kitchen Opposite
Front drop down bed - 2 further Berths.
Habitation Entrance just rear of Driver (UK) or Passenger (LHD)
Sorry for delay, been grafting saving my money up!

Are you saying your lovely mh is max 6 berth?

Would you ha e any pics of your lovely machine online to look at?

Do you prefer the config of the low bed of large book rather than the high bed option, may I ask the reason for your preference?

Thank you so much for your time! 🙏

No, because our B644 is a 6 Berth 6 Seat Belts
Hi thx for this! How do you find the 6 berth, I love the idea of extra space but technically only need 4 beds.

Is a 6 berth more difficult to drive and park etc?

thx
Would you happen to have any pics of your lovely beastie ?

I have a Hymer S630 (Mercedes) but I have borrowed a friends B544 (Fiat) and can confirm at 6ft 4 the drop down bed is definitely big enough 👍 prefer ours for the layout (end lounge) but that's just personal preference

What's an island bed Glenn? You're not winding me up are you lol 🤣
No not winding you up😂😂. An island bed is one you can walk around like your double bed at home. We prefer them as nobody has to climb over the other to get in/out of bed. I would be surprised if Hymer didn’t make island bed vans.

It’s the length of the motorhome that makes the manoeuvring difficult.

At 7 meters, I don’t find it an issue. But our 8.5m Frankia was pushing it.

ours has 6 berths in two permanent beds, one is drop down. With the last two berths being the Pullman seating area changed to a bed

We have a 2006 584. There was an option at the time for either the bar version, ie with 3rd captains chair or as we have twin settees. We find this gives really good lounging space.
The fixed table can be very intrusive on space & you will find lots of people have changed this in some way or other.
Bear in mind that continental vans ie, LHD rarely have ovens fitted.
We've not found this problem in 13 years.
Good hunting.
Barrie.

One piece of advice that helped me decide, I’d been spending a lot of time looking at alternative layouts vs overall length....
You don’t live in your Motorhome, you tend to live out of it.
Some may argue the opposite, and only you will know how you intend to use it, but it certainly helped me settle on my layout/length.
