As anyone got a 85cm crank up satellite dish are there easy to use how long to set up. Thank you.

We watch tv a lot and we want it all over Europe and we get that with a dish without any problems.
The best ultimate data in Europe is starlink but 85 pound a month.

have a look at starlink! you can get signal literally anywhere on earth!

Couldn't justify the cost.
4g serves us well enough 95% of the time at a fraction of the cost. If we dont have 4g we have the option of a portable sat dish, dvd or read a book. Only watch an hour or 2 of tv a day anyway.
My satellite dish gives me full coverage on two independent TV's throughout Europe ( I won't be going any further in the MH) at zero cost. It does this with the convenience of watching in the same way as I do at home - on a large screen with one remote, on screen TV guide, no screen casting/mirroring or connecting HDMI leads, no opening different apps, no fiddling around with multiple devices, and no worrying about roaming data allowances or buffering.

Streaming TV is nowhere near as convenient in my view, even with Starlink, and even if it was, then I would be paying £85 a month for the privilege!

It's a simple choice in my view - only my opinion of course :giggle:

I’d never pay 85 pound a month for data to watch tv

why use satellite? just get data and stream everything much better
Not always reliable how many times have you experienced poor phone signal , my other half was less than impressed when we were pitched on a site with only 1-2 bars of coverage and couldn't watch live TV without constant buffering

But how much is the data per month thank you.
£85 per month on a mobile/roaming 30 day contract which can be suspended/restarted ad lib, works anywhere in the continent of Europe (not just EU or UK). £75 per month fixed UK address. Unlimited data at very fast speeds. Yes, much dearer than a SIM card but, no data cap and almost 100% guaranteed connection anywhere except under trees or in a cellar   https://www.starlink.com/service-plans

Where can you get it you ask; Starlink gives you unlimited data across Europe. ✔️
Agree, but so expensive, that’s unless you watch lots and lots of TV. Hopefully get less expensive as time goes by.

£2500 divided by £85 = 29 months actually away in the van - how many years if you spend say 4 months away? Starlink for 8 years for the price of a satellite system! Also you can’t use the satellite in most of Spain - no signal. We only had the option of satellite when we full timed, & it drove us mad!

Intelsat 901 at 27.5 west gives you all the main stream channels anywhere in Spain

or

SKY tv on ASTRA 28.2 Pan European beam also receivable all over Spain which doesn't give you BBC , ITV but give you a good selection of encrypted English channels including Sky News

The difference between Satellite and Starlink should really be calculated to include the Starlink hardware cost of £449 - therefore £2051 difference divided by £85 = 24 months of use. For anyone that uses the van all year round (me included) then the service is needed for every month rather than 4 months of the year. Therefore;
Starlink for 8 years for the price of a satellite system
becomes ‘Starlink for 2 years for the price of a satellite system’ and every month after 2 years I am £85 better off with a satellite.

Intelsat 901 and Astra 2 coverage as Neil S said above!

Maxview Crank up, £650.
Simple to fit and very simple to use. Never worry about software updates or data use. Take your home sky box with you, honestly so easy. I laugh at the auto ones circling around searching for the correct satellite for minutes. No Sat finder needed, honestly so easy even with Sky Q.

Get a perfect signal within 30 seconds. I watch a lot of sports on tv and get so annoyed when you get buffering if streaming.
Haven’t fitted one to this Motorhome yet but will definitely do it.

You can only contact them through the support section of their website when logged into your account. Phone number? "You cannot be serious" 🤣
